    ‘The Ones Who Got Away’

Only thinking recently here, but I like to keep an eye on some of the players we seem to have had strong links with and see how they’re doing. Marko Stamenic seems to just be having a bang average season for Swansea. Adriano Bertaccini has 3 goals in 18 games for Anderlecht. Denis Dragus...

    Loan watch

Have often thought that U21 players should have their paid wage capped at, say, £10k a week with the rest held in a trust account by the PFA until they’re 21. Still get the money but may stop some really promising talents going off the rails early on. The age I’ve just picked at random, could...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Anyway, to get back to the topic in hand, when we were looking at my partner going back we started doing some sums to work out the best plan. After using the free 15 hours’ childcare, you have the cost of that on top of hitting the income tax threshold which ended up meaning she’d have been...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

“he should have just said” is literally the start of a hypothetical.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

For someone who moans about others making up hypothetical scenarios, you don’t half do it yourself.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

100%. It’s more the auxiliary cost of kids: a house with sufficient space, the fucking water bill going through the roof because of bath time (went from £18 per month pre-child to £75 per month now), more food, and childcare. As much as I think he’s a horrible bastard, Orban in Hungary has...

    Championship thread 25/26!

We’re heading into dangerous territory this summer if we don’t go up. Around £15m of player spend heading into the last year of their contract (excluding Wright due to his option year). Need to get some of these on longer contracts or hope we can get a decent turn on that spend.

    Immigration and Asylum

Just a quick point of order - HMOs in and of themselves are not an immigration issue. Only mentioning this as I’ve spoken to a few people who hear HMO and think ‘forruners’. Most student places are HMO for example. (btw Nick, not saying you’re inferring this, would just like this to be mentioned)

    'Neurodiversity'

Not quite on topic, but this thread reminded me of an advertising board I used to see at the Ricoh. identifydyslexia.com Used to imagine that when you get to the homepage it just said “you don’t have dyslexia”.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Solution? Do we go for the Singapore model and pay them an absolute fuckton of money in office and ramp up anti-corruption legislation?

    Immigration and Asylum

Interesting take from a bloke who wouldn’t look out of place sleeping in a doorway.

    Offsides

Simms is quite a funny example of that actually because it strikes me that they’ve tried to do a lot of work with him playing as a focal point of the attack and involving him early. You see it when he will do a bounce pass or cushioned header first time. Shame for him that he doesn’t have the...

Kalvin Phillips, Joe Rothwell and Gus Hamer as a midfield 3. The first ever midfield to have an average BMI higher than their combined squad numbers.

Imagine either Simms or Wright working as hard as Conway though. Might be profligate in front of goal (generally) but puts a shift in.
