It does seem a high fee. Maybe it will turn out not to be, but £9m for a player who hasn’t performed higher than the Turkish league and is 25 is a lot of money whether he turns out good or not.

Which is exactly what will happen. Either we’ll get a fee worth losing him for a season or we won’t and we’ll keep him.

So what would you do? Not play him?

Well what would you have him do? Rack up fine and lose any reputation in the game or wait nine months to have a resolution? Seems like a few others you’re more bitter about losing him for free than anything. But that’s a risk with any player.

What limbo? If he is saying he wants to go home and the only way that can happen is running his deal down everyone knows where they stand.

What level? Turkey?

Quite literally sat with someone who has just done that flight today. It is categorically not 40 min.

But USA are crap. Kastaneer was an international, it doesn’t mean anything on its own. I’d agree we need to move on, but £9m is a fee I’d pay for him having scored 15-20 at a similar level. He’s a £2-3M gamble with a finished article price tag. He cost less than £2m a year ago.

But at what level to justify a fucking massive fee? For £9m I’d want someone who hadn’t flopped at similar levels before. He’s a gamble and the price should reflect that.
