We’ve changed the way we play to be more direct and from my POV, it’s a bit difficult to see where Godden fits in. He’s a great poacher and works hard for the team but his impact is limited. Personally, it feels like a good time to cash in if we’ve got options lined up.

That’s an exchange worth losing Gyokeres and Hamer for. Relying on 5-6 loans a season to plug gaps in the squad is not sustainable for long term.

Agree, to be candid, we were quite lucky last season that Hamer and Gyokeres could carry us the way they did and stay healthy. Overall, our team does need a lot of strengthening to add depth and replace potentially both of our stars.
