Agreed, but to be consistent with my thoughts on England… it’s the group games and the only important thing is getting out of the group. Netherlands winning the group would be (potentially) good for us if we get our act together.

Yep, Sheaf is definitely a leader and there’s a decent supporting cast of leaders like Lati, Kitching, Bidwell and even the likes of Allen. That all said, not many of those will be starters so it’s still a gap in my view. More experience won’t be a bad thing especially given how young the team is.

Agreed and whilst we have a ‘model’ that we’ll follow, you don’t want to have a team with next to no experience to help the players through tough games and situations. A player like McNair and Browne (for example) would be a great fit. Southampton signed some really good young players in 22/23...

It’s still early in the window, we’re probably going to sign 7 or 8 players this summer. We’ve got some great signings that have great profiles but the gap will be 1-3 players with experience. The value of having Kelly and McFadz in the Championship was huge even if they weren’t the best players.
