Butts Park Arena is new home

Of course we're off the radar. Just look at this weekend. Nice article in the Times, live match on Sky Sports. Clearly totally off the radar

    HR - Sad but true

West Ham's move is very like our move to the Ricoh. If they get relegated they could have similar problems. Although they do seem to have a much better rental deal than us.

    It could be here ?

Put in showcase cinema coventry and you're right next to it. There's a huge piece of land, presumably farmland, just south of where italia has got the car park that I've always thought would be a prime site if Fisher ever was going to build his super 60 acre complex.

Borrows 80s Was hard to choose between him and Nilsson, came down to how long he was here and how reliable he was.

Butts Park Arena is new home

It's 4.5m from the nearest actual line according to Network Rail's guide for architects and builders.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Not pushing it, just saying its not impossible. Millwall has a gap of 40ft on one side and 6.5ft on another, St Marys is 50ft. Sure there's more but they were the first that sprang to mind. Again though an issue for architects and the planning department.

I can't imagine there's red hot security at Sphinx. they'll probably just take your word for it.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Plenty of football stadiums that are right next to other buildings, even housing. Again though I would have thought that was something to be looked at by architects when drawing up plans and discussed if we ever see said plans and a planning application is submitted.

Wasn't really suggesting we do a carbon copy of Millwall's stadium but if you want to read about some of the things they do to raise revenue look here: http://www.millwallcommercial.co.uk I'm sure there will be NIMBY's who complain however the fact they've moved to an existing stadium, where...

It is to scale. You can build 4.5 metres away from the track.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Reckon you could fit a new stadium onto the site. Posted this pic before but something like Millwall have wouldn't be impossible.

Thought everyone was keen for him to keep his mouth shut? Even if he did say something like that it would just get a response of 'more BS from Fisher'.

Butts Park Arena is new home

But what is the difference now from when CU said they had been considering a move to the Butts earlier in the year? They didn't move there and instead moved to Sphinx but said they would stay in contact with CRFC. From reading the article absolutely nothing has changed since then so why another...

Another team who has somehow found space to build a new ground in London

Or this one, brentfordcommunitystadium.com, less than 1.5 miles from their traditional home. They should have employed me as a consultant as that's taken about 5 mins on google yet we're supposed to believe they couldn't find anywhere after spending years looking.

Another team who has somehow found space to build a new ground in London

Don't see why not, there's several top level rugby sides who share with football clubs without having issues. Plus by reamining in London they get the benefit of Twickenham and Wembley games. I think we can put to bed the idea that Wasps put any serious effort into staying in London.

Another team who has somehow found space to build a new ground in London

Interestingly this new ground for AFC Wimbledon is only 6.5 miles from Wasps traditional Sudbury home. Doesn't seem like Wasps look too hard to find a London ground. Just realised that its less than 3 miles from their old ground to Wembley. Saracens now play some of their games at Wembley (they...

Butts Park Arena is new home

Is there actually any new info in this report? Seems a bit of a rehash of the story from around the time they moved grounds, eventually ending up at Sphinx. At the time it was said they would keep talking and keep options open with regard to moving there at some point in the future. Could be...
