Just thought to ask has any ITK heard anything regarding Robins? For all the people talk about how this could be end of Robins I feel I’ve missed something?

I understand the desire for a number two. But in all honesty I’m not sure it changes much. Was sat in corporate so saw the coaches going up to Robins all game and giving him their views (a lot of them were having a go at the CMs for getting dragged). If a new assistant comes in, more than...

Going to be honest, not sure what to say at this point. Team can’t be arsed, Robins lacklustre today. Why he didn’t bring on a sub is madness. Team was absolutely knacked at 70+. Why not bring on Torp and Joel especially with our two midfielders having yellow cards. Referee was a wanker, lost...

If BTA is injured and we will know soon, Would rather start Norman over Simms just to keep the energy and the top side of the pitch.

Think that’s the new plan. With BTA harassing the defenders we can lump it up and even if we don’t win first contact, we’ll put pressure to try and win it in midfield or high up the pitch to allow us to break.

Putting in a shift when/in A) Training B) When he comes on. He’s got to earn the chance to start by making a strong case when he gets the chance. That’s exactly what BTA did last night.

100%. Also it’s not even accommodating, Simms isn’t a pressing forward. We need a high press to play high in the same role just exposes him. If we play him, we need it to be with a purpose. Hopefully he uses this time to start reflecting on what he needs to do and how to get there.

His shirt to lose now. Then Norman’s if the role is to high press.

Optimistic now after last night. Would look to start the same line up, changing Tats for EMC due to injury.

He did well to be honest outside of the passing (that was everyone in the back line bar Bidwell tho). You’re right when you say his nastiness gives us a bite. Would be happy to see him start. Now’s really the time for him to shine without other leaders in the squad after all he was Barnsley’s...

On this note, I saw the coaches talking throughout the match with Mark and each other. Saw them huddle at one point when we looked to bring sheaf off. Hopefully not just the players starting to gel. Happy to see Robins stop the 60 minute subs as well and make subs when needed.

Also seemed Robins was more in control. The subs were much more like what I expect as opposed to the 60 min like for like.

Brilliant performance that will hopefully shut up people like me. Just need to carry it forward, hopefully same line up against Wednesday

    Ellis Simms

One thing robins sides have always done is work hard. Think if he won’t press either we work around that or we move him onto the bench. Eccles doing that for him hurt us more than him simply not doing it.

    Ellis Simms

Me too think as a traditional target forward who can hold the ball up and unleash a pacy option however is where he’ll shine. Or as a poacher but then we have to acknowledge he won’t get involved in the play or press as much as other players.

    Ellis Simms

Might be me but I just don’t think being a single striker suits Simms. He’s too isolated most of the time trying to get in behind without the pace to allow him to break at speed. Put another striker who will do the press work like Norman or BTA to chase down balls and play off defenders...
