    Half term report

Southampton, Leicester, Sheff U and Ipswich are well below the usual run rate. After Boxing Day, the Top 4 all had 44 points and only Sheff U had 50 points. We’re ahead of Leeds. Burnley and Sheff U this time last year for context. Only Boro are on 40+ points and they’d be 5th on last years...

    Half term report

He’s been there and done it as a player and this point is something the players mention in interviews. It’s pretty clear they respect Lampard and trust that he knows what it takes to win a league title. He’s a manager that’s had a Top 4 Prem finish which is an achievement unmatched by any...

    Half term report

It’s not fool proof but it’s a solid indicator. We’ve lost 2 league games under Lampard so realistically, will we lose more than 3 games in the next 12 Home games? I’d say probably not. Similarly, Ipswich’s away form is currently 1.18 ppg, is it likely that they will turn into a 2.3 ppg team...

    Gus Hamer

Unlike the professional scouts and analysts, our horizons are much more narrow. For example, I don’t watch much football outside of Cov, England and Super Sunday. Hamer was a great player for us, but he’s moved on and we have as well. There’s a reason all the Prem teams didn’t sign him when...

    Half term report

You can’t be too complacent but when you do the maths, it’s v difficult to see how 2 teams beat our form over the next 23 games. Our home and away form is better than Boro and Ipswich and we’ve had a more difficult teams away than both. The only people doubting us at present is our own fans...

    Half term report

Everything is 10/10 right now. We’re in a position that it’s v difficult to mess this up now.

    For those that remember 1967

I think we’ll beat that. We’re currently on 2.2 ppg and we’ve more or less played the entire top half away from home, with only Hull and Bristol City to play in the Top 6. Birmingham’s home form has dropped off so what looked like a scary fixture looks winnable now. Our away form has slowed...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

The initial 6-8 week diagnosis has him returning for Leicester at home. Lampard said he was still tracking at that. 6 weeks from Boro is after Birmingham away so BTA should be back for Stoke or Leicester.

    10 more wins does it

Ipswich are 2nd to us on home form and even then their home PPG is 2.08 and their away PPG is 1.18. Our PPG at home is 2.63 which is incredible, we have 12 home games v 11 away games left to play. Ipswich have more away games left to play too. Extrapolating their existing form, you could...

Match Thread Coventry City - Ipswich Town Match Thread - Monday 29th Dec

I don’t think Ipswich will feel like they need a win this one. January is their big opportunity to climb the table because they have 4 home games where they will be expect to pick up near maximum points.

    10 more wins does it

The bookies probably back Southampton to go up via playoffs. As things stand, surely two of Boro, Ipswich or Southampton get promoted from here. To be honest, that’s generous on Southampton but they’re still only 5 points from playoffs. Southampton and Ipswich can only hope for playoffs at best...

    10 more wins does it

Sky Bet odds for us to be promoted is 1/66 so the bookies think it’s more or less a done deal.

Match Thread Coventry City - Ipswich Town Match Thread - Monday 29th Dec

Hoodoos aside, I think we’ll beat Ipswich on Monday. Our home form should too strong for their weak away form. We need to get one over Ipswich for the visit earlier in the month as I think both managers would recognise the result was far more comprehensive than the performances. At home, we’ll...

Really? Excuse my ignorance here because I thought it’d be easier to recover from but I’m not a footballer so don’t really understand.

    Ephron Mason Clark

Sakamoto is tidy with his back to goal, but he can’t blow by defenders like EMC can. His value is his chemistry with MVE (in attack and defence) and his precise shooting and crossing. Saka’s dribble moves tend to be with the goal of creating space for a cross rather than to get past a defender...

    Ephron Mason Clark

EMC has made a lot of defenders look v weak this season. He’s got a lot of good physical traits which leads me to believe he’ll adapt to Prem better than most of our squad. Our whole attack suffers whenever EMC is out of starting eleven. 15 goals and assists is looking like a decent shout for...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Haji not scoring since October is becoming a little bit of an issue. He deserves a bit of criticism for being wasteful v PNE, Bristol and Southampton but yesterday we didn’t create good chances for Simms or Haji. Solid 3 points and another clean sheet at home which is always good.
