OK. We drew up there in the league. We beat them easily at home. For me we battered them in the second leg and made a huge mistake in the first. They will 100% be relegated and they will do it playing a style of football as entertaining as piles.

The low block is a tactic that wins the odd game but kills football. It’s a tactic employed in general by very poor teams such as Sunderland. I’d hate to have to watch it every week. It’s boredom personified.

Agree with some above. Hoping we cash in on Wright is absolute lunacy. He’s our best forward by a mile, he’s a proven goal scorer in the league we’re in. If we signed a forward this summer and they did exactly what Wright has done last two years we’d be delighted. So why get rid?

This talk of there being “a player in Simms”. When can expect them to emerge? He’s an average player who will get streaks of goals. There’s nothing wrong with that and while we’re in the Championship it’s useful. But I’m not convinced there is much progress to be had.

He’ll probably have around £20m but to get that it will mean he has to replace MVE and Wright. You’d get a top notch RB for 3-5m. Main chunk on a striker. Then any other bits in equals other bits out.

If you think £8m is a lot for a player like I believe you are mistaken. He could genuinely be an international player in 3-4 years. We concede a lot of poor goals which has cost us huge amounts of points. We must prioritise investing in our defence.

Don’t think there’s anything in this but on a wider point we must keep Rudoni. He’s now one of the players we build the team around. Say no to anything under £25m.

Well he recognises it. That’s a start. I’d push to keep BTA though. I think he could be a serious operator in the championship and already has a skill set that is far advanced on Simms.

He wasn’t particularly good. Which means in those games he was probably only a 10% upgrade on Simms.
