Pretty enjoyable game for the most part. Not a particular high standard of opposition but we played some nice stuff and took our goals well. Sakamoto looked exciting, although don’t know the quality of the opposing full back, and Simms looks a finisher.

Every season since Covid the two automatically promoted sides have either just been relegated or were relegated the season before. Norwich and Watford (1st season down) Fulham and Bournemouth (1st and 2nd season down) Burnley and Sheffield United (1st and 2nd season down)

All gone quiet again, no real solid links. Hopefully some more stuff starts to drop out soon.

We should hopefully be playing them at an ideal time. New manager’s first game, an unfinished squad and they’re due to play Liverpool in Thailand a week before our game. The travelling back will no doubt impact their preparation.

I’d rather they keep remaking old kits if this year’s home kit is indicative of the job they do when they they have to come up with something themselves.

Tbf to Turner he’s usually spot on when he says we aren’t interested in someone. I remember he said it pretty early with the Knoepper guy we were supposedly signing for weeks last season and got quite a bit of stick for it.
