I think that, until Sheaf returns, we should play Rudoni in the holding role in place of Torp and start Palmer in the more forward/creative role. Things were certainly better today when we tried that.

I think Gykores will move, probably to Arsenal, in this transfer window. The problem for us may be that it happens so late that there is insufficient time for us to spend the money on the players we need.

Clearly Simms didn’t get any service today. I think that it was mainly due to a poor display by our midfielders but it may in part have been that Simms wasn’t making the right runs into space. Whatever the reason we weren’t a threat up front and it was fair enough for Robins to try something...

That’s a good point. They are both decent players but as today showed it’s not working with them together.

Above is the comment I made at half time. This is why I think Palmer is a useful asset for us. He can be frustrating and inconsistent but he can also produce, as he did today, one of those moments that can change a game.

Bristol looking more like playoff contenders than we are ☹️

Palmer on makes sense. We need a spark from somewhere. Much as I love Saka he has been bullied today so EMC with his strength is probably a good move.

I think we need Allen on for Torp or Eccles and Palmer for Rudoni. For all his faults Palmer is capable of producing a moment of brilliance to create a goal. At the moment I don’t see how it’s coming otherwise. Simms has hardly had a touch.

We need to be much better in the second half. We often are, so I haven’t given up hope yet. I think Robins needs to give his half time talks before the game starts 😊

Wow, look at the attacking options from the bench! Last season we had Godden and Tavares when he recovered from injury.

Another forward or two would be useful. With our current squad we could be in a right pickle if we suffered injuries to half a dozen forwards, so we need more cover 😆
