More good play from EMC. He's the MOM so far.

Ephron yet again showing that he has a good eye for goal 😊

How much will we spend in the summer?

Absolutely 👍 I feel that, under Doug King and Frank Lampard, the club is in better hands than it has been since - for those old enough to remember - the days of Derek Robins and Jimmy Hill. There is a real buzz about the place, just as there was back then. 😊

    cricket 2025

The team is woefully underprepared for this series and - as I said to the wife yesterday - they shouldn't be picking Bethell, given that he has barely played any first class cricket this year. To expect a young player, with that lack of experience and game time, in a downcast and beaten side, to...

    Need support lads

Hi, just checking in to see how you are doing @Joe King. I hope you have managed to have a nice Christmas Day. A good win tomorrow against Swansea will doubtless help to lift your spirits a bit. 🤞 🙏

How much will we spend in the summer?

On the basis that we have just valued Haji Wright at £200 million I think we will need to spend at least eleventy billion if we are to stay up. I suspect we will spend less than this.

Its OK not to be OK

For many years I was the honorary solicitor to the local branch of the Samaritans and was privileged to learn how they go about their life-saving work. They don't judge or tell you what to do, they just provide a listening ear. A great bunch of caring people.

    Brau

Hopefully he will get a little run in the team when Jay is suspended and his role can be assessed when we see how he performs. I like the little we have seen of him.

    Rushworth

Rushworth is very good but I think he will be expensive and I just wonder whether the money might be better spent elsewhere, given that we already have an excellent goalkeeper in Dovin. I also suspect that other clubs higher up the Premiership ladder might be in for him, always assuming Brighton...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

I'm sure that's right. There is also the £10 million we reportedly offered for Hughes, although I wonder if that was partly to be funded by the fee Doug was expecting for MVE (less the cost of KKH) and which of course didn't happen. So maybe it's just the money for Sheaf, less the KKH fee...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

BTA is injured and if Haji goes to Besiktas and Simms to West Ham we’ll be playing me up front 🤣

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

I agree that a loan would be ideal for us but, as I posted before, I can't see how this suits Sunderland so it's probably buy or nothing. I think he would be a good addition to the squad but our resources aren't unlimited and arguably we have more pressing needs in other positions.

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

It’s reported that they both want him on loan. I’m not sure that this would suit Sunderland though, as he is out of contract in the summer.

The image has a picture of Rudi and his name below, so I guess that's a hint 😆

That's pretty much what I would like to see if they are all fit but I do wonder if we shouldn't start with Simms instead of Haji. Haji is having a lean spell and Simms was excellent when he had his run in the starting lineup.

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

WBA and Leicester reportedly in for him. We are a more attractive club in terms of the likelihood of us getting promoted but I wonder if they may offer higher salaries. I suppose any gap could be bridged with a bonus for promotion or an automatic salary increase when we go up 👍

How much will we spend in the summer?

They did spend a lot, by the standards of the day, in trying to keep us in the PL and it went horribly wrong when we were relegated. I think that's when the shenanigans started.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

If we are continuing to play with wing backs then for me it's Brau. I still think Bidwell is decent but only as a traditional FB or CB. He hasn't got the pace to be a wing back.
