    The no loans strategy

Yes, it would helped with the loss of Sakamoto because we’ve not looked right without him. That said, 1-2 loanees probably wouldn’t have made the difference in the long run. Given how tired the whole team looks right now. The lack of a loan signing in Jan is an easy thing to point at and to...

    Gyokeres Deal Details

€100m in today’s market for a striker is not that ridiculous. With Sporting having a high sell-on clause they’re going to maximise their gains too. Gyokeres has the same amount of goals (with 2 games remaining) in the Portuguese league as Nunez the season before Liverpool spent €100 million...

Player of the Season top 5

Simms is our top goal scorer overall and Hadji Wright is our top goal scorer and assister (joint with MVE) in the league. It’s a non-starter that they are in our top 5 players of the season. To think they were slow starters too, they have both had great first seasons and made a lot of bed...

    Liam Kitching

I’m out run of form in December and January he was the second coming of Christ on here… 24/25 in a footballer’s life cycle is a strange time, if Kitching kicks on and hits form again, the doubters will be silenced. Then again, the doubters are never wrong on this forum.

Just out of curiosity, why has Robins not really dropped Kitching? Especially given that we’d ideally make Binks a permanent signing. I’m not doubting the info, but it just seems strange they have these concerns and continued playing him.

    24/25 changes?

We got Hamer for £1.25m and you’d hope Torp is capable of getting goals and assists. If we were to cash in on Sheaf I’d expect 2 CMs in the summer.

    24/25 changes?

To clarify, I wasn’t proposing Sara as a realistic target for us as he is a cut above the Championship. The point was more that we need a player who can produce number like he has to elevate our own team. At Norwich away he looked a level above against Torp and Eccles. He seems to score lots of...

    The no loans strategy

It is also a 5 year plan, not a 1-2 seasons go all in for Premiership football. The stated goal is to get promotion and stay in the Prem. That’s a long process and of our squad right now, there aren’t many who could perform at that level over 38 games. A few loans when we’re ready to really go...

    Sheaf

Sheaf isn’t the kind of player that will start banging in the goals any time soon - that’s not really his game. He’s close to the peak of his value as a premiership player and at 26, he will want a move if there’s serious interest in him. If we need 6-8 players, which is a number I’d agree...

How many players do you believe we need for a playoff push? Assuming Gyokeres leaves for €100m early in the window, we're set for £7-10 million - would that fund the players you think we need?

    Sheaf

We would've got more for both players if they have 24 months on their contract rather than 12. We got great deals given the circumstances, but we didn't maximise their value.

    24/25 changes?

They have 13 in the league and none since February. I’ve defined ‘midfield’ as all our CMs and AMs and frankly, it's a weakness that they've scored so few goals. Look at Norwich's Sara who's putting in Hamer numbers (12 goals, 13 assists), a player like that is the difference in getting us into...

    Sheaf

The reality is that we need to continually sell players to get to the next level. We've turned Hamer and Vik into 5-6 saleable assets that can keep us competitive in our journey. We still need quite a few players before we can really challenge at the top of the table and if we get a good deal...
  14. Mucca Mad Boys

    24/25 changes?

Yes, we do because there's next to no goals in midfield. In the league campaign, we've mustered 12 goals all season from midfield compared to 9 goals from defence. It's not good enough.

    Sheaf

Unfortunately, he has 2 years left as it expires in June 2026. The club needs to make a decision because his value is at its peak right now. If the club doesn’t think we’re nailed on for automatics next season, then the best decision is to probably cash in and get more players in. We’re close...

We have 2 CBs going into next season, 3 if you include Lati who’s covering MVE at RB too. I believe our resident ITKs reckon we’re going for 2 CBs.

    The no loans strategy

To things back in perspective, the objective Robins was set by King was to compete for a playoff place. In the end, would spending a lot of budget on loanees made the difference this season? I don’t think so and if it was the difference between securing EMC permanently, we’ve took the right...

He’s a good defender, it was only a couple of months ago people were fawning over him. His red card today was a ‘good’ one to receive.

Even as a fan, I’m burnt out, let alone the players! A lot of positives to take from this campaign and we’re close to having the quality needed to challenge next season!
