TBF, I didn't see/read those comments. But by the gist of what you're saying, could it be a club trying to unsettle a club in the same division by throwing a grenade amongst the fans? Who knows. Agreed, it doesn't look good regardless if we don't know the whole situation.

If you were in that position, wouldn't you resign knowing that it would piss so many people off? I understand it and I get it. And that could well be the case...but if your boss told you, in effect, to make yourself mega-unpopular with the people who you've (in part) helped to get on side over...
