    Waggot speaks

Shaw said at the time that he didn't even try to change the tactics for the Thorn regime, so there was no surprise with those results.

    Waggot speaks

If you go through the squads of 75% of the teams in this division, they are of a substandard level. Ironically if the owners were as stingy with money for the playing squad as many claim, we would be all but relegated by now.

    Waggot speaks

I know the question will be raised about the ‘backing’ he has had from the club but our budget (money spent on players’ wages both permanent and loan) is up there in the top six for this division. And that at the end of the day ladies and gentlemen is all you need to know.

    Waggot speaks

Chief Executive Steve Waggott has issued the following message on the dismissal of manager Steven Pressley this morning... It hasn’t been a pleasant few days. While football clubs are sometimes labelled as being ‘trigger happy’ when it comes to letting managers go, that’s not the way I operate...

Anybody else still going to defend Pressley?

As a student journalist I would find it immensely frustrating if I was told not to touch the subject of the manager and all that entails. But that is the reality for many publications of this nature.

Anybody else still going to defend Pressley?

This is the first game of the three that I believe Pressley needs positive results from to save his job. Yes on paper a point against Sheffield United is a positive, but the manner of the defeat will bring an already poor morale level further down. Frankly I find it staggering that he...

Anybody else still going to defend Pressley?

Both the Telegraph and CWR wouldn't dare criticise the manager in fear of losing their access to the club.

Anybody else still going to defend Pressley?

The fact that both Finch and Thomas were on the pitch when the United goals went in tells you all you need to know about Pressley's managerial capabilities. Even when is the game is given to us on a silver platter we can't win, surely this is a HUGE sign that the man has to go.

    Are we Staying Up?

Hence the: Obviously at this football club it is never as straight forward as that.
