No matter what happens, I'm proud of this team. They've outfought most of the league to get this far, with a lot less money to spend. To get this far is an amazing achievement.
Its weird watching games like this now, not knowing if we're gonna be playing Leeds, Leicester or Everton next season, and in what league we'll be playing them in.
You'd hope that the Premier League would be helping Toney, instead it looks like their making an example of him. Other players in his position won't seek help now in fear of being banned for months. Sad really.
You gotta love how Ivan Toney was banned for 8 months due to gambling, but his club is sponsored by a gambling company.
I love this sport but sometimes its bonkers.
Seen this mentioned elsewhere as The People's Final. According to the Guardian Football podcast, in terms of budget, City are 22nd in the league and Luton are 20th. Loads of money is nice, but its not required when you have hard workers, sprit and determination. Decent managers help too.
As Sky mentioned, our box in midfield was superb and wouldn't look out of place in a top European team. Tactically, that was a Robins masterclass and Boro didn't have an answer to it.
Robin quotes from Sky Sports:
"Unbelievable team effort."
"Tough game at Wembley."
"When we were calm, we opened [Boro] up."
"[On Hamer finish"] he does it everyday in training."
"[Start of season with pitch issues] really tough start. Thankfully we got it done. Norwich away was a sacking...
