    The things they say....

    Took my (then girlfriend. now wife) to her first match against the Wolves. Biggest gate in our history. c50k dressed in skyblue. teams come out. She says "which lot or ours". Never taken her back in 47 years.

    Was it really 51 years ago. Can remember that team like it was yesterday. What a season culminating in that George Hudson tap in against Colchester. Great cross from Willie H if memory serves me right..

    Terry Bly: The Modest Marksman

    Remember him well. like a lot of fans at the time I thought JH was mad in letting him go. But his replacement (George Hudson)turned out to be the best goal scoring centre forward the City have ever had since the one and only Clarrie Bourton.

    Favorite EVER CCFC Player

    Agree with all the above but would like to add one more. Denis Mortimer probably the best ever midfielder never to get an England cap. My eldest lads first teddy was a skyblue one named after i. The teddy is still going strong living with my great grandson in Austria.

    The Old Five

    The term "old 5" refers to the forward line of the 36 37 season who regularly scored 5. Clarrie Bourton was the centre forward. Got the best goalscoring record of (I think) 46 in that season alone. Pity we couldn't clone him or George Hudson
