    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

7 goals in 21 games in a significantly weaker league. Not bad but not sure justifies his price tag.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

To be fair I am not saying this off the back off one game. I watched Simms plenty of times at Hearts and didn't think too much of him to be honest. I thought when we signed him that it is quite an expensive punt, I'm happy if he proves me wrong though.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Not actually that convinced by Ellis Simms.

    Hamer

I think this could happen but would Gus really put in the same sort of effort and risk injuring himself prior to a big move to a club he wants to play for?

    Hamer

Also looks like there is no grass currently at Ryton as it had been pulled up when I drove passed the other day.

    Hamer

Hope you are right but I just can't see it, and to be honest, you can't blame him if he didn't.

Twine would be an amazing signing but unfortunately I have to agree with you about him not wanting to come here.

Sporting are a great club though and would probably get to play European football.

Luton Town could play first Premier League games away

A few years ago I was playing in non league and my team got promoted after smashing the league, I don’t think we even got beat all season and yet the ground wasn’t up to scratch therefore the team below us got promoted instead. Come on Premier League it’s only fair you promote Coventry instead.

Someone I know who is a sports journalist down there said he had heard it was likely around this figure. Isn’t this exceptionally high though?

Not sure the number of managers equates to much... They have been promoted twice in their last three championship seasons.

Day Trippers, Glory Hunters....isnt it getting a bit boring now?

To be honest I do find it a little annoying the amount of people who I know support Liverpool, Manchester United etc who are claiming to be Coventry fans once we got to the play off final. Most of these people have never showed much interest in Coventry before. I would rather have my moment in...

    Consolidation

Not saying that they will definitely go up or that they will stay down, parachute payments clearly give teams an advantage though - not exactly hard to comprehend why they may be able to challenge next season is it.

    Consolidation

This is all true but it also clear to see why people may think Watford and Norwich may be able to challenge considering the parachute payments and players going out which is what my statement was responding to. It is interesting that Watford have also appointed a highly regarded footballing...

    Consolidation

Won't Norwich and Watford receive roughly 35 million in parachute payments before the start of the season? They have just sold Joao Pedro for 30 million and probably Ismaila Sarr for a reasonable fee also so will likely be strong in the transfer market as they have have just brought in a highly...

    Consolidation

Exactly so recruitment needs to be good. Get that part right then we could challenge for a top finish again but my concern is you don't find gems like Vik too often.

    Consolidation

Agreed and if Vik and Hamer leave which is very likely we are left with quite a big hole to fill.

    Consolidation

It did feel like this was our chance, especially with the teams coming down and the likes of Norwich and Watford having parachute payments. But, to be honest a year consolidating isn't necessarily a bad thing. Depends on how we replace the players that seem to be inevitably leaving. Get good...

Match Thread Coventry City vs Middlesbrough Play off Semi final 1st leg Match Thread -Sunday 14th May

I don't think it was a great game it was actually a bit poor, but this was probably more to do with the occasion and I reckon the game on Wednesday will be more open. Tbh I was actually rather impressed how Middlesbrough kept the ball at times. A little bit annoyed that we didn't test their...

    Gyokeres 25 mill + surely!!

In fairness Pedro is still only 21 and probably isn't anywhere near his peak and will probably get better at Brighton he also often plays in midfield for Watford and isn't really an out and out striker like Vik. Pedro has been statistically one of the most successful dribblers in European...
