Because they can use that very reasoning to cover themselves. Not like they're big on human rights. The welfare of their own people is unimportant to them other than keeping it high enough to prevent a revolution. Think it's bollocks though.

‘If’ we are promoted what do we need to compete in Championship?

If we kept three at the back I think Pask is likely to be given the chance to step up

So basically all it's showing is when cases plateau, because each infection is resulting in 1 new infection. Would've been useful if they'd actually labelled the axes. And put a bit in the graphic showing what would happen if R goes above 1 and cases increase again so people are under no...

I don't know if it's just me being really stupid but they keep putting up this lockdown easing graphic and it's really starting to bug me, Surely the horizontal axis is time and the vertical axis is R, so surely the line for R=1 should be horizontal, not vertical. It's bugged me since they...

Seems like once again something he's announced/leaked hasn't gone down well with the public so change it sharpish. At least this time it can definitely be called a u-turn as it was from the horses' mouth rather than a leak. Fact that in 24 hours he has gone from the surcharge being absolutely...

Need balls for that but at the same time you can't get scared or disorientated looking down.

I am a little torn about them returning. I have said I want parliament to have to be early adopters of policy/legislation whereas they usually exempt themselves. I'm also not surprised JRM wants to return to tradition ASAP. But it is without doubt being done to bring in Johnson's backing...

Outside the box idea to settle League 1

What about if one team wants to play on are due to play one that doesn't? A team slightly ahead could say they don't want to play to ensure the distance between them is maintained.

I'd be ok with that as well as the PM v Opposition. Public don't necessarily have access to the same info and some just don't get it. Johnson would probably do quite well in that sort of scenario - gets to play his bumbling buffoon character. Plus you'd get those that support the party going on...

I was a bit annoyed that Starmer wasn't give a chance to reply to Johnson claim of wanting to see NHS workers properly paid by asking why he's consistently voted against pay rises for them and was part of the cheering mob that defeated a bill aimed to pay them more.

He was a bit better than last week but still got owned. If they let it go back to the braying mob it'll be a travesty and show it's got nothing to do with accountability. I'd be quite happy for there to just be a weekly televised meeting between the PM and opposition leader with no-one else...

On a slight tangent but relevant if anyone was still in doubt that the plan is to roll over and have our tummy tickled by the US a motion to outlaw chlorine washed chicken in future trade agreements was defeated. I think that says a lot about whether we intend to stand up for our own standards.

Read the story and a few lines in say the US are keen to make a deal. If you're letting the US in the whole thing becomes meaningless. Highest number of cases, highest number of deaths - come on in! And if I was another country I'd have us on the banned/isolation high risk list

    salary cap proposed

Not a fan of arbitrary figures for all clubs in a league. Some have the financial means to spend more than that without financial problems, others would stretch themselves. It seems to punish fans who follow their team through thick and thin and teams who are performing well and thus likely to...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

For me I think you do need to look at things like that. If one team has to play the top six the other the bottom six but just using PPG thus far would see the team with the easier run in relegated doesn't feel reflective of what is likely to happen in reality. If you've got the same PPG as...
