Out of contract in the summer

Those are the only three I'd look to keep, but Westbrooke does have an option for another year. Which would mean leaving: Addai Allassani (option not exercised) Baka Bosma (option not exercised) Brown Hickman (option not exercised) Maycock Thompson (option not exercised) Wakefield Walters...

Doing a good job of demoraliseing our fans

4th January 2020 3pm is also the date advertised for us playing Rotherham at home in the league. That fixture was known about back in June - Bristol Rovers 2 days ago. We'll now probably end up playing that on a wet Tuesday at 7:45pm. Bet our and Rotherham's fans who were planning attending...

Because they're renewable.... the rotation of the earth and the movements of the planets do that. You may have noticed I didn't mention geothermal which many others do because the heat from the centre of the planet is harder to replace.

    General Election 2019 thread

I've always tried to work to the belief that the electorate are far more intelligent than they're given credit for. Sadly this result has made me question it, not because they believe in something different but because of the tactics they've been sucked in by and some of the reasoning I've heard...

Not sure it's turkeys voting for Xmas, but more voting for Thanksgiving as an alternative to Xmas. At least two of those get a pardon (although probably end up on someone's table each year - never see any follow up on how those pardoned birds are doing......)

    Transfer Rumour McCallum.....

I reckon we'd take £1m + 15%+ of further transfers + 250k appearance fees + 500k England cap. I'm not sure with McCallum if we should go more all out fee just in case - he's still got a lot of developing to do to make it at a high level IMO

Greta Thunberg / Climate Change Summit

Wind, solar, tidal...... These are improving and growing all the time, and we've barely started looking at how much we could increase their capacity. Every roof and wall is a potential solar energy plant. Every building a potential wind generator. Millions of acres of potential energy...

Greta Thunberg / Climate Change Summit

And when it was a lot hotter humans weren't here. The planet would survive. We could not evolve or adapt quickly enough to survive or at least have a massive percentage of our species die out. Think of it like your body fighting infection. It heats the body up to kill off the infection.

    New Labour Leader

In terms of social policy we are. Economically we're quite far right. Over there a lot of people see Bernie Sanders as akin to Corbyn - over here he'd be centre-left.

    New Labour Leader

Just ignore all the campaigning by Farage, Alexander and Gove then. And the fact that the Tories just won a landslide offering an 'oven-ready deal' in staunchly Labour areas when apparently they all want no deal. I agree that it should've be on 'no deal' but every bit of campaigning by Leave...

    New Labour Leader

If that was the case why vote Tory who have an 'oven-ready deal' (or did until Alexander amended it without warning)? If what you're saying is true surely they don't want an oven-ready deal, they want no deal, in which case the 'red wall' would've voted for Brexit party.

Listen To Me Just Hear Me Out

Had you asked me at the start of the season would I take our position right now, esp given the St Andrews move and numerous key injuries of course I would. Even the style of play is often great to see and far above what you expect from this level even if it does go awry at times. We're so close...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I thought the WA was oven-ready and all the candidates had signed up to pass it. Now apparently it needs amending in a way that makes no-deal a distinct possibility again. Nice to see this was mentioned in all his repetitive Brexit stuff during the election..... I was hoping the large majority...

Like Alexander refusing to vote for May's deal twice for no reason other than it didn't help his leadership ambitions....

    New Labour Leader

I agree with you in principle but the job is looking after the people of this country. Ever head the adage "to judge a man first you must walk a mile in his shoes"? Pretty difficult when you spend you life looking down on those shoes as smelly and revolting and won't touch them, let alone put...

    New Labour Leader

Wouldn't have thought you'd be suggesting people were thick for wanting to leave a union based on the fact someone has told them they'd have more control over their own country and would be better off despite all indicators pointing to the opposite? Seems like a sweeping generalisation to me.......

    New Labour Leader

Would you have had momentum having so much influence under Blair/Brown? Or Blairites in charge during the Michael Foot/Neil Kinnock days? Things change. A massive election defeat is going to affect their influence given they're inextricably linked to it.

Deflection again. I never said this rail policy was a major issue they should be concerned with right now - they've got far bigger issues to overcome. I was merely adding my opinion to the subject as it was mentioned in this thread. You however have used this as a convenient way to avoid...

    General Election 2019 thread

Yep, Labour need to concentrate on getting the power to put in their social reform rather than bang on about their social reform. Then push it through when they get power. Sadly it looks like getting that power will mean treating people as rather basic and unintelligent - get a catchy slogan...
