    Ben Sheaf future

In which case given James' likely cost and supposed injury record, would it be wise to sign him ahead of someone else similar and retain the funds for one of the other positions we need to upgrade? We'd already have Hamer there and Eccles looking to push on as well. AM is far more an issue to me...

Probably not, but it would hamper us in adding to the squad elsewhere. It all comes from the same budget. Do we really need Sheaf AND James as CM more than we need a AM/CB/LB/ST/GK etc? I also assume if we brought in both, Kelly would be released and can either of those fill the role of team...

Yeah I know but the question seemed to be framed in a sense that if whatever criteria for that obligation weren't met we could legally refuse to pay and if Arsenal then released him we could get him for nothing. Or if we didn't sign him someone else could for nothing.

Wouldn't that only be if they offered him another contract on the same or improved terms?

    Player suggestions for the summer

I had a quick look to see how Politic was getting on at Bolton. Missed the entire season with injury. So nailed on cert we'll be after him.

It's certainly an avenue worth exploring. Perhaps it could be about grassroots funding - whatever you pay out in wages (capped by % of income) you have to pay, say 20% of that to a grassroots fund to distribute lower down. Could be done for every league. Even make it progressive like income tax...

No. If he's not even making the U23 squad yet no way is he getting near the first team.

Difference between having a reserve team and a team largely maintained for an age group to focus on technical ability. We need a more competitive reserve competition to keep fitness for those out of favour or returning to fitness and be a better introduction into the men's game for the...

Trouble is he hasn't delivered it successfully. He's failed to get virtually any of the things he promised he would and now he's complaining that he hasn't got them. By those criteria just breaking up Britain would be successful as Britain can't be in the EU if Britain doesn't exist. It's his...

Paddy's problems are our problems, and certainly Johnson's. He's Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.* *Well, for the moment at least. And that's not because I think Johnson is going anywhere (despite the huge number of reasons he should be) but because the UK is pretty much...

Although I believe it's the best overall system of governance without doubt a downside to democracy is that to get elected you have to pander to what people want rather than what they need. If kids had the chance to live with a parent who gave them fast food every night or one who gave them a...

    Kelly and McFadzean

If we're honest the thing we'd miss most about them is their leadership and what they get out of others. As actual footballers they can be replaced probably quite easily but if we got rid of them it's the leadership we'd need to replace. And that for me is where James falls down. He's a...

Erm... thanks.... I think? As someone once said of me. "Some people think outside the box. Some think left field. When you get going you're in the car park looking for the stadium."

I did a year out working before uni and it made a big difference. For me the big thing is knowing what you want to do. Even after the year out i still wasn't sure I wanted to do that and eventually left the profession because I wasn't enjoying it. I've still not found my 'calling' even now. To...
