Which we are as much a part of as anyone with Brexit and the rhetoric surrounding it. Just look at our response to this crisis. It's almost Empire-like in it's 'Britain Knows Best' approach.

It's almost funny given that the party she's part of are probably far more guilty of this than most.

Decent keeper and followed on the tradition we seemed to have of decent shot shoppers, can't kick for love nor money. Preferred Oggy. Also far too handsome to be a keeper.

    Broad Lane / A45 Crash / Death

It's a nightmare junction. Lights everywhere and you're not quite sure which ones relate to you. Half the time if you kept the box junction rules you'd never be able to get out because someone else will block it. Then there's always one who cuts you up. Then you've got the pedestrian crossing...

    Difficulty with EPL restart

I do see your point but would that be any different to say picking up an injury that kept him out for the rest of the season? It's one of those things that you have to accept happens, just like you could end up playing every team when they're bang in form while another gets them on a bad one.

There can be a few reasons for that. First is that they're that good they don't have the discipline to be part of a team. They ball-hog and that's fine at school age but as you get older and opposition get more wily in how to deal with them if they can't adapt they fall by the wayside. By adult...

But they do have the benefit of training to teach them to be good at it every day.

A TRIAL? Of a TEMPERATURE CHECK? (which is useless if the person is asymptomatic) At ONE terminal? Over SIX WEEKS after lockdown? Utter joke. This should be something we can control quite well. They have to go through border control so while there get details, intended travel plans etc. They...

I agree. Sadly those in charge will continue to cosy up to America (and to a lesser extent people like Saudi Arabia and China) and ignore those with a more holistic approach to society.

Don't really see that much of a significance given so many people are furloughed at home anyway and most shops are shut. Gotta be rather stupid to think "it's a bank holiday so let's all go out/go to the seaside on our extra day off" when it's no different to any other day. IMO if you're...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Although it's still way to early to say, the early indicators do look like those places that didn't lockdown quickly or hard are suffering the most. The reason for that - worries of the effect on the economy - so hardly surprising those badly affected are predominantly those will the most...

I was wondering why the news wasn't covering this and my thoughts were them being told by some govt official "If you report on this it'll undermine lockdown effectiveness as people will think if they're letting these pople in with no checks/quarantine why and I allowing myself to be stuck...

Control their purse strings - people still have to live. Lots of wannabe 'journalists out there so if you restrict the job opportunities for those that actually do their job properly in favour of those that just write from whatever angle you want those proper journalists either have to suffer...

It is utter madness. The talk in the press conferences of winning the battle and past the peak and almost immediately talking about easing of restrictions. Considering Trump has put all these travel restrictions in place from abroad (always the foreigners) the fact it's still a growing problem...

I fear you may be right. I'll stop sort of suggesting it is intentional to use the excuse our health system can't cope, but even so the US are one of the few places that have (thus far) to have dealth with it even worse than we have. So to potentially put the health service on the table to a...

Given some of the views of the advisors in No. 10 there is that nagging doubt in my mind whether or not the care home thing could have been intentional. Reduce costs short term with increased death, less pensions etc to pay. I can't believe even they're so stupid as to not have thought "hang on...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

I imagine it's to do with the level of inactivity and not being able to have much of a 'pre-season', inc. games so fears over player fitness. Still a stupid idea though. Shouldn't just go around changing such fundamentals mid-season even in unprecedented times. I might just see a case for...
