Bit of a problem with that is that there's still loads of people stuck abroad under lockdown. If you want to bring people home you charter flights to bring them home under special measures. Meanwhile you can still close the borders. How come people believe this horseshit with just a small amount...

    Point per game table

But as has been pointed out with PPG Wycombe go up, even though they're outside the playoffs as it stands. Plus they have more away games than home and their away form is much worse.

The economy growing isn't the issue but chasing a growing economy rather than dealing with the actual problem that means we need it is.

    UFO's

We'll have either evolved into another species or wiped ourselves off the planet (I'm going for the latter). Or AI will have evolved to become the dominant 'species' What I find mind-blowing is that when we see these distant planets so many millions of light years away we're seeing that planet...

Which only highlights how the way we work the economy (which I brought up somewhere else) is hugely flawed and people keep falling for it. Why do we use a mean average? Why not median or modal? Or just the overall figure? You can have a situation where there is less monetary value in an economy...

Shame I did it to degree level then ;) Where does it say a population HAS to grow? Again, obsession with growth. Well known fact that population growth is the root cause of pretty much every single problem facing the world and reaches far far deeper than monetarily. So the issue shouldn't be...

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

But they will have to look at it month by month. By the end of the year we could be seeing less deaths than normal because those dying from winter diseases are down because we lost them now. So we end up having it look like our response was better than it was because it evened out a bit over time.

You said no economic growth resulted in everyone getting poorer, thereby implying economic growth resulted in everyone getting richer. I've showed that isn't necessarily the case. You can have a situation where you could have an overall economic retraction but most people becoming richer...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

It's why I don't understand why, when they did the system they decided it was a good idea that alongside groups for the judiciary and the legislative, they decided that the executive should be controlled by an individual. And what's more that individual would have a say in appointments of things...

I was amazed at the massive jump over the past few days and wondered how they managed that in so short a space of time, and also why on earth it took so long. Then it seems like always they've spun the figures and they've just sent loads of tests out and counting them in the figures.

So if a small percentage of people with a lot of wealth get 10% growth and everyone else gets negative 2% growth, but overall this would result in 3% economic growth, have we all got richer?

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Apart from the obvious not wanting a nutcase in charge I want Trump to lose because of the epic meltdown that would follow. The conspiracy theories he'd come out with would be absolutely hilarious. Probably claim 50m illegal immigrants voted. But with the way 2020 has gone I expect his...

Why? Economy has grown here, people can afford less. Got more people using foodbanks etc than ever before. Current generation is expected to be worse off than their parents but we've had an incredible amount of economic growth over that period. Plus economy can grow but health/wellbeing gets...

Quite possibly. That's the thing with managers - they can end up moving and the compensation packages are far less luctrative than players. If you've got a good manager I'd do my best to get him with a huge release fee on it. A good manager is worth loads more than a good player and far, far rarer.

I agree with you overall - some economic growth is probably necessary but it should be one factor of many. But it doesn't necessarily mean that if we don't see economic growth we get poorer. If everything continues to cost the same then growth isn't needed - we just need to change what we spend...

I read it and it said an improved contract but didn't set out the length. I'm sure before that he was on a rolling deal. So when he got that contract I got the impression it was more about him getting more money rather than him being tied down. Happy to be proven wrong.
