I know I'm usually quite lefty but in these instances I'm more to the right. If you're given the right of asylum/refuge in this country it's with the implicit understanding you follow its laws. Failure to do so results in the automatic recinding of that right. If you're willing to break the law...

In the current times they would prefer to not say it is until sure as it'll provide ammo to the more militant 'police are racist' brigade. But that's the way it should be. Doesn't matter if it's a far-right nutter shooting people, an Islamic militant or far-left ideologist silencing political...

There's a massive difference between choosing to scare yourself on a white knuckle ride/skydiving/bungee jumping and being attacked by someone while minding your own business. It's not an 'attack' if you choose to do something that terrifies you.

Isn't that in itself racist? Libyans could be naturalised for elsewhere and be white/black/brown. It's no different to someone saying English people aren't black.

Ministers at the time even said they were working solely on the one system. It's on record. So they either lied then or are lying now.

On the tech issues of course it makes sense to trust the big tech company. But when it comes to truth and trust and you find yourself easily believing a company that dodges tax and will use almost any means necessary to try and remove competition over a government then you know there is a major...

Agree entirely. You can't improve it you can't admit mistakes. Now you would hope that it's a public face to not be discredited but privately they realise they've made mistakes and need to learn from them. But the fact they keep on doing it suggests they're not even doing that. It's just not...

    George Floyd

First thing first - it was right that the statue came down. The way it ended up coming down wasn't ideal but that is the fault of those in charge for dragging their heels on the issue. But the statue wasn't there to 'celebrate his actions around slavery' - it was there to commemorate what he...

It is possible for the person to be both. It's not Hollywood with goodies and baddies - it's real life with people having both good and bad parts to them. You can show greatness in terms of leadership or innovation but have horrific personal views (i.e. Churchill). Similarly a person can show...

There are most definitely cases of people of a similar social standing being treated differently due to the colour of their skin at all class levels. But if you have a well-educated posh speaking black person and a working class white person the black person probably has far better chance of...

I do remember being told years ago it was a slave song, but it's not really about hope. It's about resignation and looking forward to death as a release from their bondage.

I disagree. There's plenty of people out there calling for reparations. Why should people who had nothing to do with slavery have to pay money to people who've never been slaves? Ask them if they'd go to jail to pay for a crime their great grandparents had committed and I doubt they'd be as keen,

Compare it to how it has declined in other countries - places that decided when they had it at the levels we do it was categorically not safe to open yet. Just because a car has slowed down from 60 to 20 doesn't mean it's a good idea to walk out in front of it.

I'm wondering if this might be the point that people begin to realise it's all massively overhyped and it's the atmosphere the fans generate that make it more interesting rather than the actual football. All the headlines generated are around contentious decisions rather than actual gameplay.

    Weight and working out

I must be the exception. I've massively improved my diet over the past few years and have never had so many problems. Tiredness, lethargy, aches and pains. But if I have a high fat meal I've got way more energy.
