I’m fairly sure no one hates the players. But it’s valid to have an opinion on their ability. Having said that I don’t think you can get too critical off the back of a 4-1. The games v Wednesday actually demonstrate the gulf we have between lower end teams - that’s huge progress.

if you narrow the chasm it’s an interesting question. For example who is the better striker Quinn or Regis. One would get a lot more goals. Or more recently a Godden or a Biamou

I’m talking about the hogwash that gets trotted out nowadays like key touches in the corner quadrant or average shits on a matchday.

Stats will just never, ever, enable you to identify who is the better striker. It can’t for any position but that one in particular is especially nuanced.

All this talk of being surprised we didn’t push for a winger or a striker. Maybe we did?? We have no idea. We also had a phenomenal summer in terms of adding depth. Who would have stepped in for Gyokeres last year? Or Doyle? Or Sheaf?

We’ve rarely had prolific scorers at all. You can count them on one hand. In my time watching it probably boils down to Wallace, Gibson, Wilson, McNulty and Gyokeres. The irony is there is a huge block of top flight football in there where the likes of Cyrille, Speedie, Dublin were chipping in...

Not sure people watch the same games. After settling in Wright was toying with defences. Then he got the adductor injury. He’s a cracking signing and will get better and better.

I think the “outs” should be split. Those we want to let go I have as Kelly, Moore, Bidwell. Those who will go that we don’t want to = O’Hare. Those I think we may struggle to hold on to = Sakamoto. Incoming will be ECM, a left back, a 9, an O’Hare type and possibly Binks
