I like Sheaf but I think he would've benefitted from some time out the team, he's not played well recently. But dropping an established captain as a new manager is a bit of a no no so I can se why Lampard didn't do it. Not turning on him at all.

Sheaf has been poor for a while, could be a blessing in disguise if it forces our hand to get a couple of CMs in.

One of the main reasons I wanted Lampard was his fame, gravitas and Chelsea connections to attract players to the club. If that’s not happening why did we bother!

So there’s no logic to your point. Also you keep banging on about Chelsea. It’s Chelsea! No other manager we could’ve appointed would ever dream of getting the Chelsea job. Why would being unsuccessful at a much much higher level disqualify you from getting a job at a lower level?

If Doug believed we have a top 6 deck he wouldn’t need Lampard to get more, just get them performing to their ability.
