    The change of shape

Is this the old guard not being happy with the new signings? Because if that’s the case I think there’s potentially only 1/2 that would really hurt us to lose…

    Recruitment has been shocking

This thread title gets more hilarious by the week. With the exception of Ayari, who’s a loan anyway I can’t think of any signings that could be described as shocking. Simms has a way to go but I have faith and Dasilva looks like a bit of a square peg in a round hole now we’re playing a 4 back...

    Empty seats

…as you should Giving a season ticket to a friend is one thing, selling it off on social media to a randomer is entirely different.

    Simms

It would be interesting to see Palmer used there as more of a false 9 with Wright, Saka and O’Hare encouraged to run behind him

    Seeing out games

That header (by Thomas?) was inexcusable really.

    Kelly & Fadz

Hmm, don’t think Moore, Lusala, Rus, Tavares or Ayari are. And Fadz isn’t in a back 4. Kelly pretty limited too, and Allen looked very League One on Friday night.

Rus!!! That team might genuinely struggle in league one

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

Not seen it mentioned much but Allen's error for the first really annoyed me - he should have cleared that ASAP. Very similar to Eccles vs Norwich, but 6 mins in and being one of the more experienced players I expect better. Thought he had an all round poor game. Said on the night that him and...

    The Forwards Conundrum

Just play Simms. At the very least he’s about 6 inches taller than Godden plus quicker and stronger. He’ll occupy defenders more and leave space for the wingers. When neither striker is particularly performing I’d rather give the minutes to the promising 22 year old with far better physical...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Semantics He's playing out wide. You don't score 20+ goals from there unless you are playing for a dominant team.

Who let MR loose on the baileys before naming the team?

    Who’s Next?

Quite obviously Bidwell, wrong side of 30 and limited going forward.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

I agree, but in a window where we should be looking to sign a top quality CM and two competitive wingers I don’t see how a striker fits in. I can’t see us spending on a permanent deal, and a loan will leave us in the same situation come the summer.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

Where does that leave Godden then? If another striker comes in and Simms is second choice he will hardly be seeing any minutes. I think another striker is quite far down the priority list.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

We have to get at least one winger in and should be aiming for two. If Sakamoto or Wright got injured we'd be fucked I think. Don't see anyone else in the squad I would be confident starting out wide.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Wright will be 28 in 3 years time. At which point he'll still easily have at least 3 years left before he starts to physically decline. What a ridiculous comment. And he's now playing as a winger - I don't think anyone would have expected him to score 20 goals off the wing if we'd signed him as...
