    Report into Ricoh Arena talks

Simon, in no way do I subscribe to the paranoia about bias in the Telegraph, and your journalism is normally very fine by me. However, in this case the article misled me. It’s written in the present tense about a past event - “Boss of Coventry City FC owners writes letter of complaint “, “Joy...

Capacity in the unlikely hood of a new stadium should be ?

I agree with this principle – a stadium might last for 100 years, so how the hell can you predict the circumstances of a club over such a long time frame? If we ever did move, I’d want something with imagination to it – for example, being able to see the pitch from the concourse at MK is great...

    Turner - different class

No, he always looked like a fine young player, but he made a couple of high-profile mistakes and some fans crucified him for it. It's happened a few times over the years - the most recent example being Stokes (although he’s not at the same level IMO).

Butts Park Arena is new home

Yes, if Les Reid’s information is correct and CCFC are thinking of an initial 12 – 15K, we would be locking people out for fixtures like yesterday’s. His article also said there was potential for “more than 20,000”, whatever that means. I’m not pre-judging anything the club wants to propose...

    Concourse

There are probably enough toilets, but the entrances are too narrow. Need to ask the landlords to do something about it?

So what have we learned Today?

Another thing – Ben Turner dealt with absolutely everything thrown at him today with ease, after only just coming back from major ankle surgery. I believe he may only be contracted until next summer. If we can make it into the Championship, I’d love to think that we could compete with Cardiff...

So what have we learned Today?

You might be right - but I haven't seen anything from him this season that suggests he's over the hill at just turned 34. Maybe Wolves were guilty of a bit of "ageism"? Anyway, I'm happy that we are benefitting.

So what have we learned Today?

That we need to offer Sam Ricketts a contract for a couple more years - hugely influential.

    Sad Article On JH

Some of the posts here have been moving to read. I too experienced the decline of a family member, now no longer with us. But it’s a joy to think how much that person gained in life through what Jimmy Hill did for CCFC. Thanks Jimmy.

Butts Park Arena is new home

I actually get the feeling that the Butts may be a serious plan. I went past the other day, and the existing stand (which I think must easily hold 4000) only occupies a small proportion of the site. It’s still cramped though, and would limit how far the club can go. But if it was done right...

    Coventry 11 From Coventry

Bobby Gould of course. And Peter Hormantschuk - I always liked him.

Back to being the biggest club in Coventry?

Wow, I had no idea this thread was still going. Being “anti-franchise” is principled, but surely when fighting any battle you have to take reality into account? If Wasps represented a specific place, and/or their move had met with anything like a proper protest from their supporters, I’d have...

    Blair Adams

I agree with all of that, and I hope Blair Adams soon finds himself playing for someone who can get great performances out of him like Robins did.

    Blair Adams

I wouldn't argue with that - and I don't pretend that I'd make a good football manager :) But in this case IMHO a very good player seems to have ended up getting into a downward spiral, and I hope he can turn that around. Adams was one of the catalysts for that great spell under Robins.

    Ben Turner to sign

I thought Ben Turner was top drawer before he left us, and his sale (for £750K I think) was a shockingly poor bit of business. However, if he’s had an ankle reconstruction and not even played a full match of any sort since, it would be amazing if hits the ground running for us. But TM watched...

    Colchester United (Away) Match Thread

So we trust the manager, but not the player he trusts. There must be so many factors TM takes into account before choosing the starting 11 (including the physical condition of each player) that we can’t possibly know. He’s not done too badly so far.
