Agree with the sentiment of this but would be open to a couple of the more fancied U23s in the starting line up if they’re likely to be in the first team picture next season (hence my call for Morgan Williams). Any more than 2 or 3 would be a real shame.

I’d like to see Morgan Williams get another game. Looked quite handy when he played a few weeks back and with Willis likely off I think it’d be worth getting him more involved in the first team picture.

I’m quite happy with the business model we use and having had the turbulent 15-20 years we’ve had I’ve no problem with there being a theoretical ceiling to our progression as long as I still have a (relatively) successful club to support.

Sounds a good shout to me. Looking at his stats he tends to play up top a lot more than out wide but with the way we play there’s a lot of benefit in having almost a right-sided striker in the mould of Hiwula on the left.

Bakayoko by far. Has height and as much pace as Chaplin, it was embarrassing seeing Chaplin trying to outrun Beckles today who’s three times his size. If you’re that size and you’re not quick, you’re no use as a striker.

But the key is if we’re not putting an offer in place at least a year before their contract expires then it opens the door to losing them for nothing. If you offered a contract 12-18 months in advance and they turn it down there’s the opportunity for a sale to take a fee.
