Then don't stay. Negotiate a trade deal instead.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I agree - not all bad; fantastic objectives. I used to live in Warsaw just after the wall came down. We went back a few years ago and the change was incredible. It's really down to shades of grey on this decision.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I understand the aim, I just don't believe it's achievable. I understand that much of the money paid into the EU goes into these investments and I have no problem with that. My concern is that it would take decades to realise and I don't think that they would last the course before the...

I know you weren't replying to me but that was my point! You cannot have a single economy that would fit these countries and the UK, France and Germany. You could accommodate all in the single trading bloc we signed up for,

Do you seriously think that the people who work in the City pay the slightest attention to Murdoch?

It'll be up and down just as it always is. I expect a large fall tomorrow. The City likes volatility.

I think Farage is toast now. Vote Remain and if anything it's more likely.

BTW, I must say, I was reading the thread on the Labour Party the other day and I thought what an intelligent and tolerant debate it was. Far better than the tosh I've seen on my FB page - many of which emanated from supposedly intelligent grammar school alumni and almost universally graduates..

Not you :) I've quit Facebook for the time being because so many of my friends were claiming that out voters were stupid and racist; signing petitions to have the referendum results annulled (I'm aware of the irony that it was a leaver that set that up) and so on and so on... One old friend...

Well isn't that how many voted: "on the balance of probability which is the better path?" You are right; I think that the EU will fail long before it becomes The United States of Europe - and this is why: I think that you cannot control the huge variety of local economies with a single...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

In my opinion it's pain either way - the choice is between some pain and risk now or the long drawn out pain of remaining until the EU implodes.

Tony, you are still thinking in binary. Controlling immigration doesn't mean no immigration. Lack of a free trade agreement doesn't mean no trade. Leaving the EU doesn't mean that companies in Eire are going to sack your family - why would they?

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Apologies, I was intending to support you. On social media all the bitter remainers have been claiming that there are 17 million bigoted racists that voted. And yet I don't know a single racist and apart from Mart's (now hackneyed) accusation not one person on here has mentioned voting leave...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Given that many older people voted Leave, we should leave it a little while before the second referendum and then some will have died. We could also change the voting paper to have double negatives etc. to catch all the stupid people who voted incorrectly. Or we could simply change some of the...
