To be fair to them, we did. And it worked.

I get the impression that Ostigard is expected to replace McFadz at some stage this season, both quite aggressive defenders. He’s out of contract at the end of the season.

And given our scouting style, it may be worth a punt to see if the next one is a success.

Ordered the new third kit for my little brother as a Christmas present, got the shirt and shorts within about a week but another week on and no sign of the socks. Don’t know why it was all sent individually, which has slightly unnerved me.

Just finished this week’s 5km run and down to 27:54 (from 30:35 4 weeks ago). Really happy with that but know I can get below 27 with a bit more work.

Back again. Longest run to date this morning, 4.3 miles in 43 minutes. Quite happy with the pacing considering it’s another step up in distance. Set myself a goal to do a 10k by Christmas and looking reasonably promising, it’s finding the time to do it more than anything.

Indeed, I’m now down to 12st11 (from 14st1) and am pretty happy with where I’m at. It feels natural now to be eating at a calorie deficit which means I can still have a few beers and a/or a takeaway at the weekend. The running has also really helped.

I’m absolutely the same. Saving me 2 hours of travel a day, plus the cost and the freedoms to exercise longer or get a head start on housework during my lunch hour. My employer has said we will largely be adopting homeworking after this, which is a relief. How would this work in practice...

Not really. Look at the opposition we’ve faced - Blues and Derby in particular are awful in attack. Norwich had no strikers. Again, lazy to look at it as a binary thing. And that’s before we get to the fact that we played 3 at the back v Norwich.

I’d also dispute we were in control, bar the first 15-20 minutes. Derby were able to get at us far too easily in wide areas and they did have a few gilt-edged chances, as Brighton mentions. Let’s put this into context, that Derby team have scored 2 goals from open play all season, and they...

People in supermarkets drive me crazy. Like you say, just meander around seemingly without a care in the world. Also when there’s a group of about 7 of them treating it as a family outing - bizarre behaviour. Get in, get your stuff on your list, get out. If you’re in there for longer than 30-40...

Have also thought about Keinan Davis before (not in that way!). From what I’ve seen, his strength and link up play is very good, though he is making the match day squad most of the time at Villa.

Absolutely, it’s easy to have one good game but to do it every game for the next couple of months is another challenge. Positive start though and certainly coped well with hands and feet.
