I think it's because he got so many England caps when he wasn't really international standard, highlighted his deficiencies at the top level for the whole world to see. In terms of ability he's probably similar to Kevin Davies but one got 62 England cap and the other got 1.

Where did I say the reason he didn't get a squad number was because he was injured? He didn't get a squad number because he was set to leave the day they were submitted, if he doesn't leave he will be part of the squad. If he makes the match day squad he will get a number.

Yea, people don't seem to grasp that. Pressley has already said if he stays he will get a squad number and be part of the squad, the only reason he didn't get a number is that he was set to move the day the squad numbers were announce but then the move collapsed.
