    Lost pubs of Coventry

I'm sure there were stairs leading to a small bar downstairs ? I was working on a building site in the city centre in 1974/75 and a few of us drank in there as well as the Market Tavern.

    Early retirements

I met Greavsie at the Central studios when he was doing Saint and Greavsie many years ago. I was with my then young son and he gave me his autograph.I was so starstruck I could hardly talk, but he was funny and a great bloke. My lad outside said to me ," dad, who was that fat old bloke who talked...

    No Game Tomorrow

Gutted no match tomorrow so now have to find something to replace it with. Probably finish off painting the bathroom (yawn) then go to the pub and watch England put six goals past Malta. What's on the agenda then tomorrow ?

    Early retirements

I was talking to a mate recently about George Best, and he said he missed seeing him play against us. I saw Georgie three times verses us once at Old Trafford and twice at Highfield Road. And he was kept under control by our defenders in all these games, and I was left happy about that but...

The Good Things In Football ?

When my son stopped and two mates I too went on my own for a while. Tell you what you do watch the matches differently on your own, but among mates you talk and miss stuff.

The Good Things In Football ?

With managers involved in dodgy dealings, players getting up to no good off the field, and agents infesting our sport, all we hear is the negative side of football. But what are the best things about the beautiful game ? For me its meeting up with fellow fans before a match in the pub and then going...

So after 2 matches without Mowbray....

Like players all managers are a gamble. Like you say we've had all sorts. Maybe we need to clone one ourselves and have a mixture of all the types you mentioned !

So after 2 matches without Mowbray....

It has always puzzled me when a manager leaves a club and his team then go and win the next few games. Not just our club but many football clubs have seen a manager leave a struggling side, and the same players and set up then go on a winning run. What a strange sport we love !

So after 2 matches without Mowbray....

Do you think Mogga was a bit hasty in leaving now ? As we all know in football sometimes it can change quickly, and a win can turn a season round.

    Louis Theroux - Saville

In a book about wrestling and how big it was with it on every Saturday afternoon, Jimmy Saville was mentioned. This was written before the stories about him came out,as he was a wrestler and it said he loved to get beat up and took no end of beatings, but always came back for more. Bet if they'd...
