Doug , could you help with the PA system

Yes, as mentioned from a health and safety perspective alone it will probably be a case of it needs to be changed once it fails. The point is, who actually pays for that. Replacing a PA system is expensive work.

He won't be anywhere near ready for the Championship. Performing well in a nothing friendly is one thing, over a 46 game competitive season at a high level is another. A loan for him this season is the best thing for his development. But there's clearly a lot to work with which is a positive.

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

The logic of 'remember how Vik started with us' is frankly idiotic. By that same logic we shouldn't let any young player go in case they make it. Most sensible posters actually saw that there was a lot of potential with Vik. Also, people make out he was awful when he first came when that's not...

Doug , could you help with the PA system

Well I think to be fair that was more to streamline footfall traffic matchdays. That's a personal choice by the club to invest in that to improve matchday experience. You would've thought there has to be some kind of shared responsibility between the club / FG as the leaseholder to ensure that...

Doug , could you help with the PA system

I don't know really as the PA would need to be used for a wide variety of events such as concerts etc. so to be fair I don't think it would be right for the club to shoulder that cost on second thoughts. The health and safety points made above are actually very valid. If there was an emergency...

Doug , could you help with the PA system

Replacing the PA system wouldn't be cheap. It's probably one of those where the club will only invest at the point where it physically stops working.

    Callum Doyle

We need to be mindful that a) they're very young, and b) they've only been playing in friendlies. They're not likely to get much in terms of game time this season here and the Championship is a huge jump from what they're used to. But it's still important that they get that experience...

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

'Great potential' is excessive. On the whole he looked dreadful last season and showed very little to indicate he could become a success at this level. His attitude is also highly questionable.

Jackson Irvine another familiar name as well. Former Burton and Hull.

Didn't realise Ricky-Jade Jones had ended up there. Decent player for Peterborough in recent seasons.

Albeit, it was a short cameo in a friendly but I thought Perry was excellent. Composed, brave in the tackle, and distributed the ball well. Hopefully he gets a decent loan this season. Could be one to watch for the coming years.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Agreed. Either sell him now or just agree to a straight loan. I fail to see how it's of any benefit to us to opt for an option to buy.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Most of which under Lampard. Until he came in he'd only started 5 games - I'm fairly sure most or at least some of which being in unfamiliar positions. There's quite a sizeable lack of context issue when it comes to fans critiquing EMC's season last season. If Robins wasn't going to play him...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

As mentioned, Robins was regularly playing him in very strange roles or dropping him to the bench. He didn't really fit in the system at the time and Robins didn't know how / refused to play to his strengths. As MacAnthony alluded to when EMC was sold to us, it's LW or nothing with him. Which...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Under Robins he was often played out of position which didn't help at all and he showed what he was capable of under FL. I think he'll be a real threat for us next season.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Not really sure where I stand with Bassette. I'm probably in the minority but I wouldn't be that opposed to moving him on if there was an opportunity to make a profit on the fee initially paid. He's incredibly raw and didn't really show enough last season to make me think he would ever be a...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I don't think it's an either / or to be honest. Both need sorting. I'd be disappointed if FL and the recruitment staff addressed one and not the other.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

He'll almost certainly be the preferred option on the left. Obviously along with being a goal threat, he wants his wingers to be a creative outlet by delivering balls into the box and creating chances. I've mentioned this previously, it's not that Haji necessarily doesn't do that, but as a...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Yeah I think if a CB has excellent IQ and as you say can read the game and anticipate danger well, then pace is somewhat irrelevant. Mertesecker was a good example of this. At the top level he's probably one of the slowest centre backs in existence but his positional sense and general awareness...

    Championship thread 25/26!

Also slapping £7m on Broadhead is categorically awful business. Not to mention that he has a history of recurring hamstring issues.
