This is the problem with him really. In terms of ability he's perfectly capable at this level and his height isn't that much of a limitation as he's got a great leap on him. He's just painfully slow so is vulnerable to losing is marker or being caught in behind.

You'd prefer a player with quite obvious ankle issues? Interesting take.

Match Thread Coventry City v WBA Sat 22nd November 25 12.30 KO

Losing Torp has been a real problem for us which has probably gone slightly under appreciated. He gives us a completely different outlet in attack which you're not going to get from the likes of Allen or Eccles. Equally he just fits better playing with Grimes than Allen, who is vulnerable to...

    Home is king for promotion

It's an old fashioned view, but teams that can find a way to win games even if they are not performing all that well, for me, are usually the elite ones. No club that has been promoted through the automatic spots would've played well every single game. The key is they have the ability to grind...

He wasn't great last season. Went missing in a lot of games and was very one dimensional at times. His crossing, decision making on the ball, and eye for goal have all improved.

Sakamoto has come on leaps and bounds this season. He's already matched the number of goals he scored last season.

    Championship thread 25/26!

I wouldn't bother listening to those pair of geeks. Literally an abysmal podcast and they just engagement farm on their socials.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

The problem clubs have going up I find is that it's incredibly difficult to actually build a successful squad in one single window. In terms of getting players in that are capable of playing that level I genuinely don't believe it's actually as difficult as people think, as long as you've got a...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Forest isn't really a case study at all. Their drug baron owner has just chucked hundreds of millions at the squad until it's somewhat stuck. In their first season in the PL his son was picking a lot of the transfers. And when you thought they were becoming more than established in the PL...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Yeah. It's difficult to gauge how FL and the recruitment look at it in terms of what's specifically needed in that position. Injuries will of course also factor into their decision making as well, especially if anyone is out long term come Jan. I know we were reportedly linked with Daniel...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Versatility is really what we need rather than stacking the squad with bodies. I think we'll definitely look at, at least one winger that can probably play one or more roles - i.e. LW/RW and possibly AM. Ideally I'd like another midfielder as well, as it's the area where I feel we can be left...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Occasional moments of magic as you'd expect of a player of his quality but on the whole he wasn't great at all. Some of that was probably on the manager as he kept on playing him in weird positions.

    Premier League thread

Forest and Leeds look like two sides that will very much be fighting relegation this season. Very little quality on show in the first half, from Leeds especially who have literally done nothing since their goal.

    Championship thread 25/26!

Surely that argument would make more sense in season's like last season where for the most part the parachute clubs completely blew away the rest of the league? It's proving to be one of the most competitive seasons the Championship has seen in years which surely is a good thing.

Are you starting to really believe?

Our fixtures over the next couple of months are very tough. If we get through the next 10 games with 20 points and a relatively unscathed squad then I'd find any kind of drop off to be pretty unfathomable.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

I can see it being a winger which can also play as an AM and a midfielder which can play 8 and 6. Possibly Bamford as well assuming he's still lurking at Ryton.

    Loan watch

I don't think our outwards loan strategy has ever been that well thought out really, even under Robins. We should definitely be more forthright in our position with regards a certain guarantee on game time. Other clubs are, why not us?

    Loan watch

He's started twice since being brought in and one of those appearances was against Man U 21s. It's not ideal being limited to brief cameos here or there when he's at a stage in his career when he probably needs to be starting. They tend to prefer playing with one up top and with Collins in...

    Loan watch

If he's not playing week in week out he needs to be recalled in Jan really and sent to another L1 or L2 club which will give him regular game time.
