    Reserves beat Lester 3-1 earlier!

Normally agreed, but Cyrus has played in plenty of positions as a kid-FM think he's a CB, and I've heard people claim he was a striker at school. Then again, so was Marcus :o

Yeah, he's a bulldozer when he gets up a head of steam. Whilst his crossing is inconsistent, the odd one is absolute mint, and I don't really want to lose his long-throws from the side. But he really could do with a break, and being used as an impact-sub, which is why a return for McPake would...

    Clarke

Skybluetracy said about a week back that she'd bumped into him and he'd said he was a few weeks off a return to training. My original source on his injury said he'd be out until the New Year, so that sounds about right still. If anything he could be ahead of schedule, but it depends how he goes...

When Saturday Comes - Spoilt for Choices?

No, plonker Linnell erroneously said he's been "given a free transfer", only to back-track later on and say "we must stress, he is still at the club". What it actually means in reality is that if a club wants to come in and take over his contract, we won't ask for a fee. On Saturday, I agree...

Reckon Carlos would get a game for us if he'd screwed Thorns wife and had 2 broken legs...

    Reserves beat Lester 3-1 earlier!

I think it's fair to say that it's at the other end of the spectrum, for sure! Mmm, maybe we should give young Phillips a chance on the bench? I liked what I saw in pre-season, and Cyrus is on his last legs. On the other hand, how many more games does McPake need before we start considering...

    The slating of Andy Thorn

Sure, I see what you mean CCFC, and AT was maybe naive if anything in not realising how it would read (he needs to play more Football Manager!). But my point is that it wasn't uttered quite as explicitly as it might appear...but if it had been, I'm not adverse to a bit of stick alongside the carrot.

Bloody loved him in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on Sunday, too. He is British comedy's "Franchise Player" :D

Jesus, it's not great that it should come to this but...Freddy as sub versus Watford or Roy as sub versus Burnley...there's no contest really, is there? Freddy wouldn't have managed such a technically deficient air-kick as Roy did from the corner, nor such a naive move as the "knock the ball...

    The slating of Andy Thorn

There are times for the arm around the shoulder, and there are times for the boot up the arse. This, for me, is very much a case for the latter. He didn't go out of his way to talk about Gael, it was in response to a question. He did not say "I do not care how Gael feels", he was asked "how does...

It's nice to read some common-sense, and Brinner..that tickled me :D

    The slating of Andy Thorn

You should have seen the report raving about him in The Sunday Mercury. They (rightly IMO) enthused about the way he closed down and tackled in the first half, saying that Burnley simply couldn't live with him. Every time Burnley brought the ball out of defence, we were all over them like a rash...

    The slating of Andy Thorn

The dear precious Bigi is not capable of doing anything wrong. HA! He got exactly what he deserved off AT and the number of slight misquotes of his interview I've seen in a bid to use it against him are disgusting. Frankly, if Gael think's he can walk around like the big "I am", then he also has...

But you don't know it would have helped! If you're going to resort to calling me stupid, you can just fuck right off. Prick.

How do you know the sub coming on would have miraculously turned the tide? You don't.

Mumford, you started the post-Leeds game chat by saying we should have lost 5-0.....

    Cov v burnley

It's a bit more complicated than that...if you are losing, it's easier to maker a switch to make a change (as Howe did at the right time, and it worked). Also, it's a lot easier to do a h/t team-talk when you are behind.

    Thorn got it wrong today...

Just implied an insult the way you used "even", but then a Thorn-supporter is an insult to your eyes! I'm not "sticking up for him"-despite your view, this isn't the playground. I presented the reasons in a coherent argument: he kept Roy on because he'd just come on and wanted to retain a goal...
