March 70, a challenge with Tommy Craig of Sheffield Wednesday at HR, all around the ground a crack is heard and Roy Barry had a compound fracture.
What a difference he made in the team from relegation candidates to European places and although he came back he had lost a yard of pace.
I will just shut up, Astute,
There is nothing wrong with optimism and of course I don't think we will lose 5-0 but sadly I prefer my dawns to be real rather than receiving yet another wake up call.
One game winners! Hurray...,,
I am sure the ones that go will get behind the team and I hope we get the result we wish for.
As we have been in the nostalgia mood recently I would like to add that even in the best days we would struggle to take this many to most venues.
Sometimes villa , yes West Brom, no Birmingham, yes QPR...
I think you heard that incorrectly. The maximum wage of 20 pounds was abolished in late 1961 for the top players of the day. In 66 most of the World Cup winners were still on 100 or so.
He may have said 1.85 pounds as an apprentice.
I too miss the hostility that hung in the air at games. That is why the Sheffield United game at home was my favorite for a long time.
It was a throwback game. Forget the slaps, there was tension that night and it went both ways.
Can't disagree that it brilliant when a manager sets his stall and knows what he wants and works to build his team.
If he fails it's on his terms but I do feel that Robins is a leader and has been clear in his vision. With him in charge I can see some of the clouds have already dispersed and...
I appreciate many of you have seen these new guys in the flesh in ONE game and I haven't but surely we have already seen enough players who shine in the short term and offer nothing longer term.
Why not wait a few games and see who is the cream and who is just just not good enough?
Hard to argue too much with that. He is number two on my list behind Tommy Hutchison.
From his first game at QPR he was a hand in glove fit for us and added so much to the team whilst here. I would have loved to have seen him up top with Robbie Keane.
You can really see that Wolves were our big rivals in the songs from the 60's/70's.
Great name Red house coaches btw! How I look back on those trips with such affection and yet at the same time I must have spent so much time in fear during those days. Some stories I can tell!!!
We all hate...
Couldn't disagree more FP, if a player gets us up this year then it's paid its way.
Yes ideally you want to plan for the future but we need to get out of this division as a priority.
