Blues during that 0-0 at our place last season too, that was the earliest time wasting I've ever seen live

Lol Iverson getting the ball and falling down to time waste already

Draw enough for Newcastle to get CL, Leicester clearly parking the bus. Doesn't bode well for a thriller.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

There's normally an agreement between the teams that the loser keeps the ticket money seeing as it would be peanuts to the winner.

    Things that annoy you

I think it depends what it's for. Last game at Highfield Road, losing such a monumental piece of our history? Sure. Drawing 0-0 with Morecombe to make the L2 play offs? Tinpot

I'm terrified, everyone talks about wanting to get to finals but they're the worst games to have to sit through. I keep daydreaming about winning and having to rein it in, a defeat would be horrific. Genuinely not sure which way it'll go which makes it worse.

Was messaging one of my Man City supporting mates and they said they're still not used to them being good which I absolutely wasn't having.

I know it's not surprising, but for a team that's just been confirmed as champions and are playing at home before the trophy lift this atmosphere is wank. Even without the jeopardy the place should be bouncing.

I know but you said they stayed up having barely spent anything, which I don't think ~£70m is. Even if we speculate a bit knowing we've got £150m coming in at the end of the season I don't think we'll be able (or want) to spend anything near that. Which as I said, shows what we're up against.

    First city game

5 years old, City 3-0 Middlesbrough, Dec 28th 1996. Went with my Dad, brother and Grandad and remember it was fucking freezing. I remember being in the stand opposite the main stand with a blanket and having Oxtail soup out of a flask at half time, nothing of the match itself.

Not sure how accurate these are or if someone's put this somewhere else but I'm seeing a lot of talk about pitch dimensions so thought I'd actually look into it. All in metres: Kenilworth Road - 100x65 CBS - 105x68 Wembley - 105x68 https://www.football-stadiums.co.uk/grounds/england/

    Still pinching myself

On The Athletic's weekend preview pod for the Premier League the guy from Bet365 said either team will be the shortest odds for relegation a promoted team has ever been. Obviously, we all want us to stay up but I wouldn't be disillusioned if we came straight back down having spent sensible...

Best thing if we go up

Being on MOTD again. And do FIFA still recreate all PL team's stadium? If so, I'm glad we got rid of Wasps and all their signage in time. Not bought it in years but would have to if we went up.

"Barely spending anything" was ~£70m. In the summer they brought in people like McBurnie for £18m, then Berge for £20m in January. I wonder whether Doug's got that in his back pocket or the desire to speculate/take a loan knowing he's getting a massive chunk at the end of the season.
