    Phone in - Waggotts interview

Having just listened to Sean Dyche and Keith Hill on TFLS, the difference between them and us is that whilst they also sell every window, they have brought in plenty of new players-who they later sell on at a profit. Speculate to accumulate. We could have got Vaz Te for free in the summer, even...

    Phone in - Waggotts interview

They may have lost money in the first few seasons, but not this season. No chance. Our transfer balance sheet is almost entirely cash coming in, and at each step the wage bill has got lower. Lukas 1.5-2.25m Aron 300-500k Turner 750k Sturridge 150k That plus gate receipts and the smallest wage...

    Phone in - Waggotts interview

SISU do not bankroll the club! They keep us going by selling players, such as Lukas, Aron and Turner. That is where the funding for this season has come from. I assume anybody on our books will be sold in the summer that attracts a bid-Keogh being the only one who will attract decent money.

Something for the Thorn out brigade to think about

Others will find a way around it (they always do), whilst SISU will use it as an excuse for us having just the youth team + Baker, O'Donovan & Bell.

Something for the Thorn out brigade to think about

It's the Thorn-out lot that seem fanatical to me. A lot of them are low-brow and talk about him being fat or drunk. Maybe the minority who resort to that level are giving the anti-Thorn lobby a bad name, but they are a vocal minority. I sometimes think that Bantam has 40 or 50 accounts..

If we had new owners in for next season... would you keep Thorn

If you can't appreciate the irrational elements to your posts, then I'll point them out to you. You seem very paranoid about me, which I find sad but amusing in equal measure. All I did was point out that the manager can only work with what he's got, and the owners have not supported him. Even...

Something for the Thorn out brigade to think about

Which is: a) admitting that SISU won't replace Thorn with a proven manager b) possibly the most stupid idea I've ever heard. Whatever Carsley does know about management, it's what he's been learning off Thorn. Ask him!

    Phone in - Waggotts interview

Maybe Nimely wasn't advised as part of the Boro deal, but I'm not sure why everyone is so in thrall to Waggott. He hasn't overseen a strengthening of our side or secured anybody who will still be at the club next season. He's just helped to dis-assemble the squad on the cheap. Norwood was hardly...

Blimey, I actually agree with you on something!

Didn't Adams lose his first 5 games in charge?

Do the decent thing Thorn and fuck off!

So the players aren't fit: there aren't many clubs without a fitness coach. Whose fault is that then, hmmm?

If we had new owners in for next season... would you keep Thorn

Players have improved. Best example is probably Lukas and Keogh.

At least he had a brain in the first place to be operated on.

Martin O'Neill is IMO the best manager in the UK. He should have got the England job when he replied. He is the new Clough. So, who are we gonna get in who is that good then, Paxman? BTW Blackpool go 4th today..perspective, eh?

Something for the Thorn out brigade to think about

He clearly was not: the budget was later changed, Clouting is on the record as saying that. It's like trying to build a cathedral with a children's plastic tool kit. There ya go :p

If we had new owners in for next season... would you keep Thorn

So if the budget and squad haven't improved-indeed post-Lukas, they've deteriorated-, how is he meant to magically transform our season through time?!?

If we had new owners in for next season... would you keep Thorn

I think he's a manager-his switch to 433 1st half today worked a treat. He still has my backing 100%. I can't be bothered justifying him either, but you are like a lot of people: Thorn hasn't become a non-manager, you've just ran out of patience. What's changed is your viewpoint, not his...

Something for the Thorn out brigade to think about

Beat me to that one, dadgad: the post following yours being a prime example! My favourite was the knob on the phone-in who had a go at Thorn for being incapable of motivating, followed up by "The players just need to get a brain in them!" Well, which is it: revolutionary brain surgery, or...

Do the decent thing Thorn and fuck off!

Sorry Ichan, myself and the 3 people I sit with all think Thorn is our best manager since Black. It's sod all to do with SISU or feeling sorry for him, we just think that with even some resources, he'd have us mid table. The form under him last season shows what he can do with a couple of decent...
