I'd rather they invested the huge sums it's costing into additional training for officials, encourage more to take up officiating - subsidised courses, make lower level refs professional etc. Also they should instead use video for retrospective punishment for the likes of Grealish's dive...

Clear & obvious doesn't apply to offsides. They're foolishly believing the tech is good enough to be definitive when it's not, it's impossible. Also as VAR can't overrule on free-kicks or yellow cards etc. you get farcical situations like Grealish proven to have dived on the VAR penalty review...

Disagree (although they are numpties too), the whole system is critically flawed.

Been reported by a few now so quite possible. At the end of the day, I don't think he can play the Kelly or Hamer (Walsh) roles well enough physically & he now has O'Hare, Hilßner, Allen, Shipley, Jones & Jobello as competition for just 2 x CAM positions so can see where the club are coming from.

Which ironically is a friendly against Cercle Brugge, the club he'd been on loan with.

Interesting. Speculating but perhaps club initially thought we might miss out on O'Hare or another midfielder then when they signed Westbrooke was deemed surplus to requirements? From the clubs perspective he has the 1 year deal anyway to prove he deserves a longer deal or will be moved on...
