Hate to say I told you so! Got to blame the manager for today IMO, he got the 2nd half completely wrong. Gael was terrible-I can only think Thorn couldn't see it as he was on the other side-but he was just constantly marking space and not picking up his man. So many goals early season...

    Unbeaten in last 6 matches

He's had a few very good games this season, generally as a sub, and they did come mostly just before he got injured. Yeah he's incredibly inconsistent in a squad of inconsistent players, but we need all the bench options we can get. And he does try-he's not physically strong, that isn't his...

I'm still terrified we'll blow it. I never seem to have England win at cricket and City win at football on the same day, that's another bad omen :(

Sorry, when I said "lower league", I was writing from our perspective, i.e. a league above League 1 (at the moment!). Making Carlisle...?

Tsk, tweeting before they're even out of bed in the morning, kids today, eh?

There were a few last season-we were very close to snapping up Lee Tomlin from Rushden, but they couldn't stretch the budget. He was a Thorn spot, but very well known to anyone who follows the non-league game. Cracking little player, as he has since proven at Posh. And we'll probably see today...

Spot on. It was ever thus, even in the top flight. Maybe the start of our downfall was that we started signing Hadji's and McAllister's on megabucks (and remember Hadji was a luxury player, and Macca pretty crap for us until his last season!) instead of the Gynn's, Peakes and Kilclines from the...

There's plenty of them, as Bobby Gould-and Andy Thorn-know full well. One of the crimes of this regime has been that a manager with a great "little black book" hasn't even been given a tiny bit of leeway to spend a few pennies in the lower and non-leagues to snap up those gems. Would it really...

He's had an immense season. His rampaging forward runs remind me of Konjic's-and I can't remember the last time the opposition have got the ball off him without fouling him when he does it!

    will cody come good now

Tempted to agree, especially as Alex and Cody should be more capable of potentially starting 2 games in 3 days. My worry is that our build-up play will massively suffer. Don't agree at all with those saying make Alex sub: he's probably our most gifted player, for all his lack of goals, and...

    will cody come good now

Fair point, but you are forgetting that it took King 5 months of first-team action before he got properly match fit. Watch him for Birmingham, and I'd say he's a much better player for a preseason and his time with us, even if he missed the early part of the season with a knock: his starting...

    A pessimistic side of things...

The OP is far from pessimistic: us losing tomorrow like I think, now that's pessimistic! Peterboro have plenty of goals in them and can play with freedom...a terrifying prospect. Hope I'm completely wrong though!
  14. Nonleagueherewecome

So ... how do we think tomorrow's games will pan out?

Can't bring myself to think about it too much...I am absolutely terrified that we are going to completely screw it up and lose tomorrow. As Yoda or a Welshman would say, bricking it, I am.

The Coventry Telegraph has let us down this season

I thought it was well understood that the CT had shut it down due to legal reasons? Hell, they don't mess around with deleting posts on the "comments" section of articles thesedays. To the point that I no longer even bother looking on there: anything it reports of value will be on here anyway...

    will cody come good now

His all-round game particularly first-touch are still lacking, but his fitness and attitude are much-improved. I think he does have the look of a natural goalscorer about him, possibly (whisper it) more so than Adam Le Fondre, actually. The real beauty of that goal at Hull was it was exactly the...

    pitch invasion

It's come close with a couple of the refs we've had this season...it would almost be worth the life ban, especially if I'd have got Ken during the same "attack" :)

    is it just coincidence

Exactly. Shows what a little bit of quality and depth can do.
