Showed the importance of a focal point up front. Gyökeres was brilliant for the time he was on. The ball didn't stick once when he went off. Then Dykes came on and did exactly that. Pinned Hyam more times in half an hour than I can remember anyone doing to him in our last ten games.

Another possible option if we are in the hunt for a right wing back could be Cyrus Christie. Been frozen out by Fulham and told to find a new club. Still only 28.

Think @better days alluded that Shipley might want more game time. Especially given the recent preference for Allen. Still think the midfield needs improving particularly with the uncertainty around Bright. I think one of Shipley or Allen was always going to leave. If Shipley probably on loan...

On reflection and having heard Robins aftermatch interview (which I agreed with every word) - last night could be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully might serve as a reminder to the owners that he does need a little more backing before the end of the window.

First half an hour Allen was the best player on the pitch by a distance. Lovely disguised pass for Shipley when he blazed over the bar. Wasn't really involved after that though.

Agree with all of this. Said on another thread Bright did ok I think. He's getting his fitness up and won't be as explosive as he is capable of but retained the ball quite well and generally I thought worked quite hard. Bit harsh saying he didn't want to be on the pitch.
