    New Kit

Just to clarify, I think everything that's going on with the club is ace at the moment. I genuinely thought many were annoyed that we didn't have a kit yet when a lot of clubs have theirs on sale already. Nothing more than that.

    New Kit

When every other club is releasing theirs, I suspect that's not the reason for the delay. Thanks for the pedantic response though 👍

Who was mainly to blame for our relegation from League 1

Don't worry Mark...you'll never be made a scapegoat of. Some might call you a Taxi mind but you'll never be a scapegoat ;-)

    New Kit

It's a shame this whole kit delay. Generally, the club has been run a lot better in the past couple of years, communications better, social media presence has been fantastic and of course, on the pitch, we're flying. Just seems like a small step backwards. Can only hope the delay is not the...

Season start date confirmed. + fixture release date

Totally agree. If anything, certainly for us, Rotherham and Wycombe, it'll be the freshest they'll ever enter a season. Less so the rest but you're right...they've all had at least two, maybe three months off.

I can't understand how anyone would want to be in Wasps shoes rather than ours, sorry. Other than 'owning' the Ricoh, they're playing in a part of the country that after a bit of a fanfare at the start, seems to be lacking interest in them, they owe circa £30m in bond repayments when there's...

    Wasps downward spiral...

The DoubleTree brand isn't 'budget'. Its an upscale brand but less formal than a normal Hilton brand. Hampton by Hilton Garden Inn and Tru are more 'midscale' or 'focused serviced' brands but not budget. And it's not really unique to have hotel rooms round the edge of the stadium - Hilton...

I was Director of Sales for Sports and Partnerships at Hilton until 6 weeks ago, so I know the hotel very well. I've also shown a few professional sports teams the hotel who all said it was a good option (despite being 'too near' where they were playing).

It's really not dire. And if they're there for a conference/exhibition/meeting which is one or two days, they do tend to stay there. If it's anything longer, then delegates do tend to stay somewhere else where there's more happening. Same for anyone going to a multiday event in any city.

I think it would make my blood boil reading some of the stuff on there. And it's already too hot. 32 degrees C here in Portsmouth today.

To an extent, yes. Internal team meetings for example are more and more common on things like WebEx and Zoom, two platforms I've ran training programmes on. There will still be an apetitie for face to face meetings, conferences and events though. Yes, Covid-19 has made companies look at the...

Not being local, I can't say that I'm aware of it FP. Does the UoW facility have accommodation attached? If not, there's one reason. There could be many reasons though...the hotel at the Ricoh is managed by Hilton on Franchised basis. Hilton's sales engine and reach is for greater than many of...

About the location thing though...how many big companies go down to Devon to host their annual conference? The issue with the Ricoh is that you have a lot of competition for event hosting in the Midlands.

The interesting bit about this is the conference business side of things. Has anyone been to Sandy Park? I had a meeting there a few years back....a lovely little stadium, accessible, good parking etc. However, comparing their conference facilities to that of the Ricoh is like comparing...

    Ricoh

The thing with car parks at major venues, you're always going to take time getting out. I've been in queues outside St Marys, Brittania Stadium, Ashton Gate before...it's the fact that there's hundreds/thousands of cars doing the same thing as you.
