I agree MVE could go for more than £6m but his form this year has been very inconsistent so I reduced my expectations from the summer.

We need new defenders they don’t have to be loans. We are out of the play off race and too good to go down. What are we building with loans this season ?

We did under Robins. Swift was on more than £30k a week having joined West Brom on a bosman from Reading. Swift needed a pay off from West Brom to compensate him for a reduced package at Cov.

I’d look at premier clubs who have recently exited their manager and who are keen to move players on to refresh their squad under a new manager. leicester, Southampton, West Brom, man united etc they might be forced to do loans late in the window where they heavily cross subsidise the players...

I think finding the right experienced player/s is more difficult than fans appreciate …. Ex premier players come with very high wage expectations, even at the end of their careers. The game is now so so fast. If you choose players who’s legs are going ( which is why they are stepping down )...

I’m still not sure what his principle asset is. He’s not clinical, he’s not got a trick, he’s not slow but he’s not super quick, he’s very one footed, not dominant in the air…..

Robins had been out of work for over a year when he rejoined us having failed at his other clubs …. He was hardly spoilt for choice.

He’s clearly not a wide player. seems good guy, lots of work rate but not much end product

Wow. What a strange take. I think Robins had ran out of energy at our club but he’s clearly a championship level manager, if he has the right assistant.
