For anyone that might be interested....

I'd get a tenner on it mate, though I think in 1987 that was about my week's wages. 🙂

    Golden FAN charge

Ah, this did make me laugh. I'm also relieved that it wasn't something that I'd just made up! Cheers mate, hope you and your cousin (edit, not brother, sorry!) are both well, pity he went to the dark side, but then you had the last laugh in 87. :)

    Golden FAN charge

I hate diving, so I've got no problem with this, as long as it's applied to every single player that dives. And if it's going be applied retrospectively, let's start going through Fulham's and everybody else's videos from last week, and dig out all of their diving too. In fact, let's start...

    Golden FAN charge

He's better as a keeper, mate... "Christ Saves!" "But Keegan gets the rebound!" Am I the only one who remembers the seventies? :)

    Brexit Benefits

That's absolutely fair enough, but if our total energy imports are more than a third of what we use, then I think we could justifiably be regarded as 'heavily reliant' on them. That's the point I was trying to clarify... There's no argument from me about the need to increase renewable energy...

    Brexit Benefits

I'm not saying you're wrong, but the stats I've read put our dependency on energy imports at around 35%... https://www.statista.com/statistics/267591/dependency-on-energy-imports-in-the-united-kingdom/ Are you using a different source, perhaps?

    Drinking in the stands

I never met his dad, but I don't know many people who'd try to punch Aggie. I can imagine his father was probably cut from similarly 'direct' cloth. I think the biggest disturbance I've seen at the BPA was when a drunken eejit rugby tackled the mascot. That and some outrageous tutting when the...

    Drinking in the stands

Sorry mate, but where's the evidence for this? I did a bit of digging, but other than a Welsh BTP officer complaining about their rugby fans, there was nothing to back up this 'fact'. I found an old newspaper article about arrests at Twickenham, 50 in five years. How many arrestable offences...

    Joy Seppala at Warwick University

In the old days club owners were in it for a bit of personal glory and sometimes because they held the team in genuine affection. Now most owners are in it for 'sportwashing' or profit (or maybe even money laundering I often wonder). I remain to be convinced that our owners are ultimately...

That is brilliant. Fair play to the lad too, because even when they're coasting the pros go faster than I could sprint!

    End of Woke News?

He'll fit in well with the clickbait crowd, no doubt. I seem to vaguely remember he was quite funny on his football program, but a bit less so when on his political rants... still, if it keeps Grendel happy then there are worse things I guess... :)

Got to be happy with that, great comeback. Loads of positives in that performance. Big George would've been happy with a centre half who takes no prisoners winning the game for us.

    Masks at the Arena

Christ, even Boris had to listen to the scientists eventually. This is getting like flat earthers. There's a absolute ton of evidence that masks suppress transmission, a ton of it. Google it for yourself. If you don't want to wear a mask for some other reason, that's your choice, but let's...

    Our George

What a man. I don't know anyone, City fan or not, that doesn't hold him in huge regard. I'm sorry he's gone, but I know his lads from some way back and he's left a terrific legacy in more ways than one. As an example of a life well lived, I can't think of many better. R.I.P. Mr Curtis.

    Sevilla match thread

Not too worried about the result - but do you think their No. 35 might be interested in a loan spell? :) Not impressed with the Sevilla stadium though, I was expecting something a bit bigger. This was more how I picture the Fisher/Warwick Uni Arena. :D

Which classic car would you have?

I think there might be a tiny spec of dust you've missed on it, just towards the very bottom of the centre-stand. But I haven't brought my microscope, so I can't be sure. 😄

Which classic car would you have?

If I had the money I'd cheerfully have a CRF, much nicer than my old mid-90s thumper, a DR250. It does for me though, if I'm limited on the road I'm even less competent off it. And I bruise more easily these days. :) The Raleigh is brilliant, I'm sure my mum had one like that, briefly...

Which classic car would you have?

Proper moped, with pedals and a push bike seat and everything, love it! The beemer is a lovely looking thing too, but it looks like I'd need a step-ladder to get on it. :) Those adventure bikes are decent sized bits of kit. I've got an old Suzuki dirt bike to potter around on these days...
