Thought he did well for us. Would be a handy back up player but wouldn’t be first choice behind Fank.

Watt role will he play or cover? Bright?

    Waghorn.....

Much like we have Cranie training with us I’d quite like Max doing the same. Just my opinion. Vic gets injured, get Max to fill in on some kind of pay as you play or, low basic rate (as you say, not in demand elsewhere so it’s not as though he’d turn it down). Loan him to a local side like Moors...

    Waghorn.....

That he scored more goals with less playing time, it seems, is quite true.

    Waghorn.....

I agree that Cranie would be useful and can cover a few positions. Prem teams and upper Champ teams have cover for all positions. We need to start thinking like an upper Champ team to be one. We don’t need a bunch of 10k/week reserves, but we do need injury cover and players to come in to slot...

    Waghorn.....

I have every faith in Robins. I believe he will pull in a couple of players in the last minute and may do something unexpected like loan out Walker to a L1 team with a recall option. At the moment I think we have an issue with squad depth and balance. An injury to say, Fadz or Dabo or Maatsen...

    Waghorn.....

Waghorn was a strange signing. 31, we are not going to get a fee from him so isn’t in our “development” model and with Godden & Walker (also JJ, O Hare, Bright or even Jamie Allen in the even of an injury crisis) able to play in that position it seems a bit daft. It could only have been that...

    Robins on Gyokeres

The “mistake” wasn’t necessarily taking Gyo off, particularly if he had a shoulder niggle or similar - the problem is that we haven’t got a physical striker on the bench or indeed in the squad. A couple of decent high balls were sent to Walker who let the ball bounce rather than try to bring...

Gyo going off was the game changer. It meant that they (QPR) felt that they could push on knowing that we didn’t have an aerial target man to build a long ball break around. it’s all about small differences at this level.

    Is the game on ifollow?

Watched it in Ayia Napa. Wish I’d stayed at the pool bar. I’ll say it again: Victor is key - he gives us a physical target and means that the opposition has to adapt and be wary When he went off the game changed in their favour. That we haven’t got a stand in for him this is, IMO a key weakness...

Online Gossip - Pompey want Shipley on loan

He’s a good player in the right set up. He has a great left foot and a great passing range and seems cool in front of goal and doesn’t panic. He reminds me of an old school Ian Crook type player. That said, our team isn’t old school and tracking back and tackling are key requirements- things...

I live in Sheffield now and speaking to some of the Blades up here they can’t understand why they let him go. Surely they had an inkling that Ramsdale was going to be off and that they’d need to keep the money to balance the books a bit. I watched them (SU) against WBA the other night, their...

    Waghorn.....

My observations: Our style of play this year seems to revolve around having Gyok as a raiding target man with with either two runners behind him (COH, Bright, JA, etc) or another striker playing off him (TW, MG, MW etc). Problem is, who stands in for Gyok if injured / banned? I hate saying...

    matty James

He would have been a good addition IMHO. I just thought it a strange decision to join Bristol. 9 years at Leicester on (probably) a good wage might have meant that money wasn’t the driving factor compared to, say, a much younger Walsh. I thought that At 29/30 (James) might have different...

He must do but splices up some pre-planned lip syncing. Clearly chooses the song before knowing the result. Impressive stuff.

And here, just here, is the SISU plan. £30/£40/£50m for going up balances their books. in the meantime, Champ TV income etc. breaks even, at least, their costs and services their debt.
