To me a number 9 is Cyrille Regis - ie a strong striker with a bit of height who can hold the ball up and be a target man. I should have been clearer tbf. We only have Vic who has the physicality to hold the ball up and is over 5 feet somewhere

It’s ok. We’ve still got Waghorn.

Also CCFC, more will sign up in the off season if we announce exciting players early. Also try to get exciting pre-season games in to inspire the undecideds

Should make it so that if you can’t go then you can scan the QR code to watch on iFollow at 3pm (for day games) for those that can’t make the game. Only open the match portal at 3 to stop people who have a ticket from passing the code to their mates. Just got my C2C tickets and they’ve made...

That’s true. And when Allen was booked (unfairly IMO) he then had to hang back with his heel-snapping. At half time it would have been sensible to sub Allen for Sheaf because of that.

I remember Drinkell signing. We had a habit of signing good top division scorers and then they went to sugar. Bannister anyone? Quinn was mighty for a while and then went off the boil.

Yep. That there be a sensible post.

I think that anyone with any clue would see that when I reference “a Doyle type” midfield General who can chirp at the Ref and has experience, then they will know exactly what it means. I’m sure you do too but like being the way you are. Lansbury (of whom the Luton fans sing “Henry Lansbury...

It’s not necessarily the quality of strikers is the balance of the type of strikers that had me scratching my head. We had at the start of the season a few no 10 types (players that wouldn’t look out of place up front in a 10 role) Walker Godden (Waghorn - see below) Bright (read last...

I’ll restate that I was amongst the few at the start that questioned his signing for the reasons I’ve stated all along. No hindsight to common sense. “Everyone was purring”. Err…. No.

Luton have a similar budget but made better choices and signings in the summer. For example, they signed a “midfield general” on a free (but probably strong wages) - Lansbury and a big young striker - Adebayo who was about £200k. On the flip, we signed a young midfielder- Sheaf for about...

    Ratings

Moore 5 - soft goal. Nearly got caught out with a couple of short balls. Distributed down a dead end now and again. Rose 5 - muppet play for the goal. McFadzean 6 - bit slow but some decent, wise interceptions JCS 7 - did well and made some decent forward passes Kane 6 - some good balls...

Our forwards need to be bigger. How many crosses sail over the heads of our toiling midgets? (Gyok aside)

I thought Luton were poor. We were genuinely unlucky. Couple of penalty half-shouts, three good chances where we’d expect to score. We seem a bit more fluid in midfield with Hamer and Maatsen combining well. Genuinely disappointed.

My stream kept cutting out. Those missed moments must have been when Waghorn played well.

He’s shown bits of effort but dithered when we had a decent breakaway and has made a few daft flicks and lay-offs where the ball has been turned over, rather than doing the simple stuff well. Had a chance in the box but his first touch took it away. Others may see it differently of course.

No But I’d swap Waghorn, Bidwell and a pack of Mark Robins’ juicy fruit all day.

Exactly how I see it. Just a bit disjointed is Waghorn
