Match Thread Sheff Utd (H) 12/03/22

The frustrating thing with us is the consistency. Allen is a great example of this. I rate him and have been fairly questioned on this before. By all accounts he was superb yesterday. This is symptomatic of our team as a whole - capable of doing it every other game when we need it more than...

Match Thread Sheff Utd (H) 12/03/22

Been working this afternoon and just got back. What a result! Glad to see Gyo and Godden notch again and continue their great runs this season. Pleased for CoH. Hes always been a great player for us but his goals tally has been shocking. Let's hope he pushes on but good on him for the 2 goals...

Who said that?! I mean, up top looks better than it has done in years. We've got two strikers with more than 10 goals this season. First time in how many years. Just need to keep Godden fit and get good back up for Gooden and Gyo.

Very supportive of our owners?! I mean, if you take 'they're not great custodians of our club' and 'they could spend more on recruitment, Ryton' etc as supportive of our owners...well, thats a totally weird flex...but ok... I don't care about what Boddy did at Worcester. I care about Coventry...

I found it funny because of how you try and convey things to suit a weak arguement - that I'm not really questioning (but I'll get to that in a minute). Madison and Macallum were established 1st team players when sold. 16 games is a 1/3 of a season - it wasn't as if he was a 50/50 project and...

Yeah but don't let facts get in the way opinion. Ludicrous!

Yeah, that's fair. At the same time though, if the debt is accrued on what they've put into the club, they have a right to get it back at some point - and that's without getting into what our owners have actually put in. If it's paying off interest, that is annoying and rightly grates though...

    Notes from Supporters Forum

Are you kidding me?! It's how EVERY club bar the top few operate. Sponsorship, TV Money, Owner investment is not the only way clubs can survive. If your best players are playing well - they're going to attract attention of better teams who will want to sign them. Often these players are sold and...

Look, I think we disagree on Dave but are likely aligned further up the food chain. But the model of selling our best players and reinvesting is nothing new so I'm not sure why you seem to think it is? It doesn't matter whether the key first team players have come from the academy or not -...

Dealing with clubs and their accommodation and logisitics, I can confirm that that's not necessarily the case but on a case by case basis. Budgets can be allocated but often it's more bespoke. If there's a sponsorship agreement (like Man Utd had with Aeroflot), that would likely entail...

Assume there's no retrospective look at the 'Fit and Proper' owners test? Or maybe Russian money into the Govt meant that it wasn't needed...

There's a really interesting disconnect between golf and football in that matter. The Saudi Public Investment Fund which has been responsible for the the takeover of Newcastle, is also funding a new potential breakaway Golf league. However there's been a decent backlash in the US Sports Media...

Yep 100%. It surprises me that these clubs bleat about Green credentials and have Carbon Neutral policies yet fly for domestic games, when a coach journey would be 2hrs. I work with a L1 club who fly to the odd game due to location but they'll often coach for 5-6 hrs.

But what I was saying is that their first time will not get what they normally need, for £20k. U23s probably, Womens team and U18s down, yes. But it'll affect their first time and their pre-match preparation.

This is crazy. With regards to their team stays at away matches - I've not worked on a Chelsea team stay for a few years but they would happily spend £10-£15k on a team stay 5 years ago so with inflation and the cost of hotels (making money after making nothing for two years due to the...

    Coventry United Ladies

You're spot on. All womens teams that are affiliated to a men's team, form part of their website. Others like Durham, Lewes are obviously not so are stand alone and therefore don't have the financial support of the overall club. Someone at Arsenal would've heard Coventry and put 2 and 2...
