IF there is a new ground built........

Do you understand what a conurbation is? Because the last time I looked there was a great slab of open countryside between Coventry and Kenilworth.

IF there is a new ground built........

Can you provide a link to where I said that? I said its part of the same conurbation. Same urban area. Same built up area. Même agglomeration. Gleiche Ballungsraum. Igual conurbación. Stesso agglomerato urbano. Yr un gytref. There you go, in a selection of European languages (including Welsh)...

Its part of the same conurbation. Greater Grimsby.

IF there is a new ground built........

Given the standard of football on offer the attendances at the Ricoh have been very good. First season had highest in nearly 30 years.

IF there is a new ground built........

Hockey is generally more of a regional sport anyway. Blaze being the West Midlands team, Panthers being the East Midlands team, Devils being the Welsh team etc.

That would explain their shift in opinion.

    The Ricoh

I'm not aware of any financial difficulties at present. I think Wikipedia is two years out of date.

I agree, and I'm not saying that all that happened with the Blaze was right. Just that the football club over its 130 year history forged itself as being part of the fabric of the city in a much greater way than the Blaze ever did in Solihull.

Wouldn't make much difference to us if it did. The Telegraph never has any news in it anyway.

So you think that an Ice Hockey club is as integral to a city/town as a professional football club? That being the case, why wasn't you putting pressure on Solihull Council to do something to help the Blaze back in the mid 90's?

IF there is a new ground built........

Because you have to draw a line somewhere. Just over the boundary, then a mile from it, then 3 miles from it, then 5 or 6. Where does it stop?

IF there is a new ground built........

Does that mean you supported the move then? What happened to your principled stance of letting individuals decide what is right?

If Sisu ran the Blaze they would no longer exist. Read up on how the Blaze management dealt with their rent dispute, and you will see how competent businessmen deal with such things.

IF there is a new ground built........

So when did you become a fan of franchising in football?

    The Ricoh

Im sorry, I didn't realise Ice Hockey was intertwined with the community on which its based. Football is the main representative of the town. Ice Hockey isn't. Anyway I'm not entirely comfortable with that part of the Blaze's past, but there is a slight difference in that the Blaze were a...

IF there is a new ground built........

If there was no where suitable to play in the city and we desperately needed a new ground then I would go just outside the boundary. However the circumstances to which this new ground would happen makes it unacceptable to me.

    The Ricoh

There used to be two lads who tried to get football songs going in there which didn't catch on, until one game against Nottingham when after the Blaze come from behind had the whole arena singing "your not singing anymore" at the Panthers fans. Was probably the best atmosphere I've known in there.
