Not sure you can put a torn hamstring down to training unless he's failed to warm up properly then gone straight into full on sprints or something.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I agree from watching but, as alluded to there's probably not many you could pin on solely him. Or maybe he was outpaced etc. that's not really an error as such it's just a physical flaw of his & much different to say leaving a back pass short or similar.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I chose not to include them as think it's a bit basic. Take McFadzean's penalty conceded vs Forest away, should he really be judged on that as an error? Wasn't it more Biamou's error in the first place? So therefore not fitting the criteria I outlined earlier. Norwich's penalty that was wrongly...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Not at all Tom, great questions & I should have included in original post that the stats are sourced from a variety of reputable stats sites such as Opta, Whoscored & FBref. The stats selected are deliberately just for comparing our CBs with one another as I touched on earlier due to the...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Absolutely. I have done the Talent Identification qualifications & it's hammered home at every stage that stats are only part of the picture. It's why I was reluctant to compare our CBs with others earlier too as there's too many variables there. Fwiw, I know somebody labelled us as "signing...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Agree with that. It's a strength of Sheaf too, always offering for the ball from the CBs. With Hyam, he's trying his best on his weaker side but yes, I believe he inhibits McCallum's attacking output too.

The Reading main commentator was just about ok but co-commentator was awful, most biased rubbish I've ever heard. Somehow they both missed McFadzean getting sent off though & didn't mention it for a full 5 minutes+ before somebody in their studio got in touch to point it out 🤦🏼‍♂️

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I have another analysis of where we fit in the league as a whole for various stats (I know hit woodwork was obviously a hot topic for conversation previously & rightly so!). I'll hopefully get to post that later this evening or before the game tomorrow. Given all the conversations regarding 4...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

That's right. Clubs at all levels now are massively investing in data analysts etc. to help identify areas of improvement & also player recruitment. Brighton are a good example actually of how data gets it right. Their performance metrics are consistently very good, particularly in chance...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

That stat is from a source I don't normally use so interested to see if it's accurate. They have pretty strict criteria to qualify though. It needs to be a clear cut opportunity directly from a clear error solely attributable to that individual. Must admit to being surprised how low some of...

Only one remotely comfortable on his weaker side I guess.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Sure, I can look to add something like that. This was purely looking to compare our CBs with each other though because if we start adding other teams players it becomes a bit more muddled as we're not really comparing like for like. For example they might play in a back 4 or in a team that...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

As most of you probably know, I'm quite into my stats & data analysis & have begun working on a few different visualisations that I thought I'd share with you as I know some like @shmmeee are interested in these kind of things. With 30 games played now, we have some good data to start making...

Mark Robins... One of coventrys greatest ever managers

Almost a victim of his own success & a lack of realism sees some fans expecting to still play brilliant football & pass far superior teams off the park. Thankfully the fans aren't picking the formations & team.

    Ref squares up to player

Well no, he was booked for the dive not the reaction. Drysdale should have issued a 2nd yellow & sent him off really.

    Player Ratings

Agree 'hospital ball' says to me he's given McFadz next to no chance & although it was far from ideal that's not quite fair. I'd probably blame Rose slightly more because he has no need to create that situation, play the way you're facing, particularly as your captain just instructed you to!

    Player Ratings

That still is a bit misleading. As you can see on the one below from a second earlier, Rose had plenty of time & was instructed to play back to Wilson by McFadzean. Instead he dallied & then returned it to McFadz who clearly wasn't expecting it & had to stretch to recover. Yes, he still had...

    Ref squares up to player

He gets nothing at all of course. The typical double standards in football. FA need to get serious with this Respect campaign as what's seen on TV & in stadiums is imitated on parks everywhere Marching over to the referee, mouthing off & thrusting your finger in his face is absolutely fine...

    Hyam

He really hasn't. He's had a few decent games but looked out of his depth in most. Made horrendous error v QPR 2nd game of season gifting them the ball but got away with it. Brentford's 2nd goal he totally lost Toney & watched ball go straight over his head. Derby he should have conceded a pen...
