    Playing Devil's Advocate

I don't see ACL over a barrel, I see a football club doing it's best to self-destruct on the verge of a massive season. So much for "getting back to talking about football", then.

    sky blues in court today

A big thanks to OSB as usual for making sense of this for me. One thing that bothers me immensely: in light of the ruling, and the two sides being clearly singing from entirely different hymn-sheets , what on earth did SISU think they were going to achieve by all this is the first place? They...

    Aint that the truth!

Thorn: Jennings has proven his quality, Peter to get more time.

He's a free agent, was at Motherwell last year but is presently unattached. Defensive midfielder. A good one, hopefully..

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

Can anyone think of a football club who has successfully forced their players to take a pay cut against their wishes? I can believe that SISU may threaten things, but when it comes to practical reality, they'd simply never get away with it. Still, you can almost see them now.."Got it: not only...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Well most of their triallists are players I'd like here, some of which we've been linked with, but I assume are well out of our reach. Accordingly, get a squad full of that level of quality, and I think they could be top half at least even with the points deduction. I'd rather they have a squad...

    Performance today??

Nice report, Brinner. Jennings is still sounding like a Doyle-type, especially with the "over-hit long passes"! Brown is a worry but hopefully he's a squad player. And if Polo offers more than Ball, I say sign him up.

I wonder who our Franchise Player is? Fleck?

CET: Dublin sad to see city in L1

Read the thread and you'll see that people aren't disputing his footballing ability or achievements. That's nothing to do with why he isn't considered a legend...

Still yet to name a captain...

We have barely seen him, so we're hoping he'll be the answer to all our prayers and hold the midfield together whilst Wood leads at the back, Fleck dictates in the free role, and Cody bangs in 30 goals.

    Never really cut it

What about Runnar Norman? Was he a Richardson signing? Guess none of it was poor Wee Gordon's fault with a nasty baddy chairman like Richardson..

    Never really cut it

Stick it in the saddo thread where it belongs otherwise you'll be as bad as all those people that turn into every thread into a "Thorn is crap/bald/fat" thread!

    Goal music

Or at least be original. Ban Chelsea Dagger. Maybe play "It's A Wonderful World" when we score, perhaps some Helmet or Slayer if we concede to get us angrily motivated to score back. Maybe the "Jaws" theme when an opposition striker is closing in on goal? After all, it's L1, they're all crap, it...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Good, I was concerned that it was all working out for them and that by this time next week they'd have a better-and higher paid-squad than us!

Jairo Martinez. He played a fair bit after relegation. The LB, Guerrero, went on to have a decent career in MLS.

    Never really cut it

He'd never heard of the then South American Golden Boot winner? Says a lot about Strachan I suppose.

    I went to Bristol

Can't believe Cody is worse odds than Sheff to be our top goalscorer. I wouldn't worry too much about Jennings, he's bound to be rusty. And he's not going to be a glamourous ball-player, he's a player made for thriving in L1 or the SPL where you need guts and attitude as much as skill. Yes...

CET: Dublin sad to see city in L1

Well he played 31 games not 14, that's a fact. Back on topic, Dublin isn't a legend to me, nor many fans. He is to some. But not 99.9%. I think that's all I have left to say on the matter.
